My knee is feeling fine at the moment doing day to day things such as walking, sitting, living etc. I was thinking of doing a light squat workout tomorrow, but I'm going to play safe as I'm off to Scotland on Tuesday to trek up Ben Nevis and would rather go into it with as few uncomfortable niggles as possible. I may just have a nice stretch & foam roll tomorrow.

Nice PRs man. You should have a bigger bench, If you dont do a 5 rep max before testing :)

Yeah thanks..I wasn't really intending to go for a 1RM attempt today, but I had a bit more time on my hands than usual, so I did the 5RM, rested for a nice while and then thought I'd try and beat my 1RM by just 2.5kgs, and I'm glad I did.

Saw the vid.
Are you holding the weight the whole time? I can't really tell if it rests on your shoulders or not... I currently hold the weight but have been told to let it rest on the shoulders... which mean I need to adjust my bar and elbow placement, I think...

Anyway, congrats on the PR nonetheless!

Thanks Nurse. I didn't realise it at the time, but yes I do appear to be holding the weight, rather than letting it rest. I was always pretty adament that I did let it rest, but I obviously had gotten sloppy without realsing. That's one of the benefits of filming your lifts and having others on this site offer their advice.

I pressed today and made an extra conscious effort to rest the weight, just a shame I failed on the 80kg but I hit a bench PR so I'm not too upset!

Well, I didn't play it safe in the end today. I brought my boxing gloves with me with the intention of doing an hour of bagwork, but when I got to the gym, there was kickboxing class going on. So, I did some stretching, and then the urge took over.

Squats
20kg x 10
40kg x 10
60kg x 5
80kg x 5
90kg x 5
100kg x 5

Nothing crazy, knee feels fine (for now). Ben Nevis here I come!

Had a great time in Scotland, unfortunately I didn't make it to the summit of Ben Nevis this time as the weather was against me, so I got about 7/8ths of the way before having to come down. I have done a little slidshow on Youtube if anyone wants to check out some of the pictures, be warned though - there are quite a few pics of my ugly, hairy face in there, so I apologise in advance. Back to training on Monday.

Cool vid bro, is there any reason you chose this time of year to go there!? Weather has been pretty brutal down here, so i hate to imagine what it was like up North!

Great job on the overhead press PR. 170.5lbs not too shabby!

Thanks King. I was going to tie it in with a visit to see family in Inverness but didn't get round to that so just ended up alone at Ben Nevis. It was certainly cold and it didn't help that they forgot to put the boiler on for me where I was staying for the first night!

Nice vid bro...

Thank you!

Nice video! Did you run into the cast and crew of "Game Of Thrones" up there?

Also, great Press PR.

Ha, thanks Tankimus..no unfortunately not, the only company I had were the sheep!

I'm very happy to finally start seeing some progress on the press. I'd be pleased to get 80kg by the end of the year and then will try to hit 100kg by end of 2013, probably a bit ambitious, but we'll see.

Damn son! That is ambitious. I hope you get there! My bench is so disproportionate to my press and I'd like to change that. I have long gorilla arms and the press is really awkward for me. I stalled at 125lbs x 5 on my last SS cycle. Just gotta keep working at it I suppose!
