The MilkMan delivers

I believe I got my JauntyPoint for micro-loading with ankle weights. Best investment ever.

Nice!

Nice words, thanks Din, I wish I had taken heed of them before going out for my deadlift today! I will be taking this advice from now on I think.

Today I pulled 175kg, which is an increase of 5kg on my last PR, but instead of calling it a day, I went for 180kg and nearly got there, but not quite!

I will be uploading vids of both when I get home tonight.

Nice! Our DL's are now tied.

Very strange: you missed lockout on the 180 by a matter of inches. 9 times out of 10, if my DL goes up at all, it goes up all the way. Regardless: 180 is well within your reach. You'll get it the next time you try.

Also: I'm pretty sure that isn't neccessary to record each side of the bar for weight verification purposes. I'm pretty sure that the internet at large is willing to assume that you're not trying to pull an unevenly loaded bar to fake a PR. :)

Haha, I think this is the point where my grip lets me down, have broken both hands in the past due to some silliness or other.

Regarding the filming of the plates, I wasn't sure how good a filming angle I was going to get of the actual lift (ie if you could even see each end of the bar while I lifted it), so thought I would do it for "proof".

Are you using chalk? It's hard to tell in the video. If not that should solve your grip problems for a bit. Good pulling regardless, 175 was quick and it looked like you had 180 for sure.

Why is Micheal Bisping on sherdog ?

I keed, well somewhat. I do see a resemblance.

Nice Deadlifts man, 180kg went up fast, thought for sure you had it. Even my deadlifts for reps are slower than that :P

Thanks Dr. No I wasn't using chalk, I must get some though.

Oh great, thanks belph. I won't take that as a compliment.

Thanks moyy. I'm pretty confident it will go up next time.

The dreaded bench press today. I have been getting decent AMRAP results on 5/3/1 but I did use a purposely lower max. I was going to increase my working max for the next cycle, so today tested my 1RM. Previous 1RM was 102.5kg

60kg x 5
80kg x 5
90kg x 1
100kg x 1
105kg x 1
107.5kg x 1 - PR. New 1RM!

Celebrated with some dumbell curls:
34kg x 6
40kg x 5
42kg x 5
44kg x 4

Dips
BW x 5 for 4 sets

Bit of bagwork afterwards.

Got squats tomorrow, have been stuck on 150kg since December, am going to hit 152.5kg tomorrow and that's it, not even going to try anything more.

Ran 1.5miles last night.

Squat 1RM test day.

5 x 20kg
5 x 20kg
5 x 20kg
2 x 70kg
2 x 90kg
1 x 120kg
1 x 130kg
1 x 152.5kg - New PR

3 x 10 - 70kg
2 x 10 - 60kg

Happy with 152.5kg, and glad I didn't get greedy and go for anything more. 152.5kg is in the bag, can now work to 155kg.

Deload next week, no weights at all, have the house to myself for a few days too, there's going to be some big eating going on.

Congratulations on the squat PR, and doesn`t it feel better going home with a new PR instead of a new PR and a fail after that? Now 155 is not scary at all, and you will destroy it next time :)

I have you to thank for that. So, thank-you!

This past week has been a complete deload for me, no work, no gym, lots of food, a few beers.

Doing some overtime at work tonight, so brought my heavygrip grippers with me to play with:

HG100 x 5 both hands
HG150 x 5 both hands
HG200 x 3 both hands
HG200 x 3 both hands
HG200 x 3 both hands
HG250 fail both hands (getting closer though)

Back to work Tuesday, and will start my next cycle of 5/3/1 then. Going to re-calculate this cycle using my new maxes:

O/H Press: 70kg
Deadlift: 175kg
Bench: 107.5kg
Squat: 152.5kg

Really happy with 5/3/1 and am itching to get back to it this week. Also, I have a 10k run on Thursday :icon_cry2

Tuesday 10th April

Cycle 4, Week 1, Day 1, Overhead Press

Warmup
30kg x 5
35kg x 5
37.5kg x 3

5/3/1
40kg x 5
45kg x 5
55kg x 5 + 2 = 7 reps. Rep PR.

Couple of rounds boxing bagwork.

I'm going to just follow the jack shit routine this week as I don't wan't to be aching too much for the 10k run tomorrow. Not looking forward to squats the day after the 10k.

5/3/1 Cycle 4, Week 1, Day 2 - Deadlift

Warmup
60kg x 5
70kg x 5
80kg x 3

5/3/1
100kg x 5
120kg x 5
135kg x 5 + 5 = 10 reps. A rep PR.

Couple of rounds boxing on the heavybag, some stretching and foam rolling.

10k run tomorrow, not looking forward to it.

Nice. What is your weight, currently?

Quit your whining, sir.

Thank you Joe, my bodyweight has stayed at a consistent 217lbs since the start of the year, so all things considered it's not a great squat, but it's starting to move in the right direction.

Quit my whining? You do know I'm from the UK right? It's what we do.

Nice squat. That's pretty much what I'm at so I guess I have some work to do.
