Thanks very much belph. I'll be honest, I don't think I'm brown belt level - don't know whether it's imposter syndrome or what, or just because the guys I train with are absolute killers made up of Team GB members, Olympians and Commonwealth Games medalists, so it's probably set my expectations as to what a brown / black belt should be, a little high, and I need to remind myself I am a 42 year old recreational judoka!

Haha, it's amazing how common that is. I believe people grow into belts myself. A little early doesn't seem to hurt, and if anything it shows the belief your coach/team have in you. From what I can tell, you're not at a club that's handing belts out.
