Movies THE MATRIX: RESURRECTIONS (New Trailer)

Are you serious? Born after 2000? How can someone born in 80s or even 90s not see The Matrix?

Born in 84.

Never got around to watch it. Never seen Stars Wars, LOTR and a few other nerd flicks either.

I do like sci fi movies though. Terminator and Blade Runner are a couple of my favorites.

I never seen Star Wars as well. Only watched 2 of the LOTR film. But The Matrix was so huge especially at our age. I'm 87.

You're 87 and enjoy the matrix? That's pretty rad, dude, I mean, that's really neat, daddy-o.

You should make a thread where you watch them for the first time and give us your impressions.

I don't think that they should use the term Reboot and I'll be fine with it. Like you can do some new movies that don't erase the previous movies and just do them involving the characters when they're younger. Like do a stand alone movie when Morpheus first joins the resistance.

Exactly. I'm down with that.

Also, the second and third movies were the biggest disappointments in cinema history for me. I liked the first one so much and I like the world they built and then they went and shitted it up.

It's not like they're messing with a flawless classic here.

If it's a straight up reboot, then I won't bother.

The first Matrix film was released in 1999.

Why do they want to make a re-release already?

It hasn't even been 20 years yet.

"No one can be told what a cash grab is..."

TV show set in the Matrix universe? OK
Prequel movie? ...uh maybe
Reboot one of the most iconic sci-fi/action films of all time, barely a decade after the original trilogy?

Huh?

This terrible idea needs to be stopped.

And people are tired of comic book movies? At least that shits not a reboot and is actually something new. It's either comic book movies or reboots of everything you've already seen decide?

Or wait you could get more original shit like Jason Borne defending the great wall of China.

The Matrix is one of my favorite movies of all time... Perfect 10 in my book... & though the 2 sequels were slightly less than the 1st, it still expands that world & I love the whole series.

2 wayz I'd like to see the next trilogy go:

My fave would be the obvious unaswered question as to how Neo waz able to control the squids in the final movie... even though he waz "out of the Matrix." My theory is that they were never out of the Matrix... but Zion & all their exploits were just a side program to keep those members passive while still being stuck in those pods. The new movie would have someone "actually awaken" & create a real Zion. (though it would be hard to sell that they were actually out... & you'd never know.) With this plot... did Neo even actually die? They could easily bring back Neo with this plot as being the 1st person to "actually escape." Like when he died in the Matrix... he actually awoke in his pod & escaped. Perhaps they even moved all the Zion people to an isolated section in the Pod city & he can awaken Trinity & Morpheus as well as otherz. Of course a new cast would work as well if it waz a very good cast. Will Smith waz considered for the original Neo & he passed. He might make a nice addition to this cast. Just throwing out ideaz here.

The 2nd way, would be to do like the Terminator series did... & explain how the machines took over & created the very first prizon & stuff.

A friendly message for anyone resisting a new Matrix movie or trilogy :D:p:D

Matrix 1 is work of art level.

Incredible film, incredible action, effects that change the landscape for movies, charisma in the actors.. etc perfect 10 movie in my book.

Then 2 and 3 took a dive.. they aren't great just good they can't be looked upon with the same awe as the first but the complete pachage is one kick ass trilogy.

I need to see a trailer and ideas for future movies to really be hyped and I need me Neo back.

I can't stand Hollywood. Just reboots, non original ideas, weak plots, jump scares in horro movies with no suspense, etc.

Hollywood pls die.

Another in the lengthy "You paid for it once, you'll pay again" Hollywood "Don't take any chances" file

Sounds like turbo AIDS.

I like the prequel idea put forth in this thread centered around a young Morpheus. I don't see why it needs a reboot, either. You can still start afresh with a new story arc and characters whilst continuing on from the trilogy, so whoever writes it wouldn't have to undo all the damage done in the second and third movies by the Wachowski brothers, who i must say are my least favourite male screen writers.
