The Matrix trilogy is essentially the story of Neo and how he defeated the machines. But they easily could tell a lot of other stories not centering on the Neo character.
I fucking hate hate hate when people try to bring back iconic movies and not include the main original cast and writers. I don't want that shit. if it's not going to have the originals then why fucking make it?
Matrix 1 is work of art level.
Incredible film, incredible action, effects that change the landscape for movies, charisma in the actors.. etc perfect 10 movie in my book.
Then 2 and 3 took a dive.. they aren't great just good they can't be looked upon with the same awe as the first but the complete pachage is one kick ass trilogy.
I need to see a trailer and ideas for future movies to really be hyped and I need me Neo back.
The second movie has two of the best interactions in the entire trilogy. It's a shame they ODed on the action and special effects (notably during the freeway scene and the fight with multiple Smiths).
I think that's what the Animatrix was, but I guess that could work. If they remake it I expect it to be something like the Total Recall remake, or the Robocop remake. Basically, the originals were perfect and a remake will not even touch the first film. The Matrix trilogy is essentially the story of Neo and how he defeated the machines. Yea good action and fun movies but not special like the first.. we had the universe first time reveal, we had to cool characters and we had the omfg moment with special effects when the woman stopped in the air and the 360 spin.. that was special.
It had it all from story to action to everything then it was just good.
The two scenes I linked saved reloaded for me. I also liked the twin henchmen, although they weren't very important.
Revolutions has the scene with the architect which I thought was interesting. Also the train station interaction with Rama Kandra.
Good movies. But I agree, not great like the original. Perhaps a bit unfair to expect that though.
It's been a looooong time since I've seen it, but from memory: The Animatrix is a very mixed bag with mostly weak writing. It's a collection of shorts and none of them are all that satisfying.I would like to know how the Matrix came to be. There were so many unanswered questions.
ooo and I found this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Animatrix which is the prequel to the matrix, a short series developed by the Wachowskis brothers. Anyone seen it? Any good?
You know what's another great movie.. The Last of the Mohicans.
"You're strong! You survive! You stay alive, no matter what occurs! I will find you!"
The all Chingachgook full on attack on the great villain Magua .. was epic.
That was the first movie I saw on HBO in my country in the mid 90's .. I remember getting HBO in my country and signing up "alright movies, it should be cool let's see whats this all about" and first night with the channel and BAM I was hooked.(newly ex communist country.. was a big big thing when HBO got on the market).
If you want to see a truly talented actor who falls into that "young up and coming black guys" category, then look at Chadwick Boseman.
He's not young.
You racist.

Well I guess he is a bit older than I thought.
40 years old? Fuck. I'd have said 30.
