Goals & Gains The Dark Knight(Templar)Returns.

Combat Submission Wrestling seminar with Sensei Eric Paulson.

Eric's one of the best instructors in the world, so some of the people had travelled from Germany and Italy to attend. When Eric told us to partner up, I found myself with a 6'4", 285lb German.

"Great", I thought, "I'm partnered up with the fucking Terminator". o_O

Luckily for me, Joe not only outweighed me by 90 pounds, he'd been training Grappling for almost thirty years, and was very helpful, showing me how to make the techniques work even on a guy his size.

The seminar was scheduled to last two hours. In fact it was closer to three when we lined up for the group photo. An exhausting but very rewarding experience.

BJJ.

Professor Rick placed me with the newest student - it was only her third class - and had us practice Flower Sweep and Collar Choke from Mount for the duration of the class.

I had absolutely no problem with this, as it gave me a chance to practice the most basic techniques. And one can never practice the basics too often.

I got through a week of training without so much as a bruise. Yesterday, I'm at work and my left foot slips while moving heavy stock. I felt an immediate, "pop" in my left knee. Like the kneecap has slid out of alignment.

Me, "Oh, that's not good". o_O

I was right, unfortunately. Left knee is swollen and painful. I have to put on my SBD knee sleeve just to walk around. So of course Deadlifts and Squats will not be an option for next week's training. I can still train upper body, but even Benching will be somewhat limited as I can't use any leg drive.

I am not in a happy place right now. :(

That sucks, although by the sounds of it, it's similar to something I've experienced a number of times...what I found has helped me is to try and straighten my leg (as much as any pain will allow) and gently wiggle the kneecap / manipulate it back into position - doing this successfully pretty much eases the pain immediately. Obviously I am a mere milkman and not a doctor, so please just take that as anecdotal advice but it works for me.

Larsen press it is.

Horse sized doses of BPC157 and TB500 or something like that....

End of Week 50.

Even before my knee injury, I was going to struggle to train hard over Christmas and New Year, because the gym is shut for several days. So I'll just treat the next couple of weeks as an extended Deload and get back into normal training in January.
