The class war. Which side are you on?

I think most people that think they are poor or lower middle class have smartphones premium cable X-box and all That shit

U will NEVER be rich if u are spending and not saving. And that is not the fault of some rich dudes that don't even know who u are

Yea, the lower middle class and those living slightly in poverty often live outside their means.

However, the deck seems to be stacked against them at times ..

Especially with high interest rates for those with poor credit,

Marketing campaigns that bamboozle the proletariat into taking loans and such that are borderline usury . ..

Lol, what a weird grab bag of political complaints. Even if they were all true, which I don't believe is the case, it would not amount to a war on the masses.

To really see a war on the masses we have to look at places like Venezuela, which Bernie Sanders said made us look like a banana republic in comparison. That guy has jokes.

Venezuela has shown itself to be authoritarian socialist. That is why it failed.

Sweden on the other hand is Democratic Socialist.

Meanwhile, everyday we inch closer to authoritarian capitalism, and in your belief that you are defending the free market, you enable the very authoritarians you and I both fear.

There is a class war in the United States. It is the intellectual, political, and moneyed elites, vs everyone else. Unfortunately many useful idiots will defend team 'elite', so I just wanted to know, which side are you on?

False dichotomy fallacy:
false dichotomy or false dilemma occurs when an argument presents two options and ignores, either purposefully or out of ignorance, other alternatives.

In general, a false dichotomy gives the impression that the two oppositie options are mutually exclusive (that is, only one of them may be the case, never both) and that at least one of them is true, that is, they represent all of the possible options.

Its not the elites fault that you guys keep voting the trickle down crowd.

Most developed economies also have their own elites but they also get things like free healthcare and education.

I'm on the side of whoever gives me the most money:)

Homelessness is generally addicts and drunks, the mentally ill. We have assistance for those in need all over. Government, churches, food pantries, etc.
I'm not going to get into what I've done (I'm good to my fellow countrymen day-to-day), but you didn't dispute anything I said about the ability for people born into abject poverty here to completely change their own economic status (and even their family tree for generations) via readily available education and hard work. So in that sense, it's the best place in the world to be poor if you choose to improve your lot in life, but you have to do it. It won't just "happen". And shouldn't.[/QUOTE] Oh boy. These are Americans, same as you, and you say "fuck em they drug of alcohol problems."

Lol...

What issues do you think I'm right wing on in terms social/identity issues?

Anything that has to do with racism or sexism but doesn't involved explicit usage of the n-word or 1950s-style casual wife beating.

I believe they call that "social darwinism for people who don't like science."

I'd rather be on the side of the rich, but they don't seem to want me on their side.

This is demonstrably untrue.

While it may be said that some poor folks allocate too much of their income to nonessential goods, saving is not and has never in American history been the hallmark of the upper class or of upward mobility: spending is. "You gotta spend money to make money" and all. Allocating money into savings, as opposed to say stocks, is a guarantee you'll never be rich.

Also, the rich are the ones driving the neoliberal and austere political machine that has been putting a pillow over the face of the average American for the benefit of the rich. It was the rich who pushed for regressive tax cuts, who fought to kill unions, who fought to privatize the public sector.

Yes, while you may not be able to impute some moral to all "rich dudes that don't even know who you are," you can absolutely blame declining wages, declining mobility, and economic inequality on the rich, categorically.

You seemed to have missed my posts talking of investing.

Tax Cuts and Killing Unions is not even in the Top 5 Drags on workers. It just fits your political slant.

I worked 1 union job my whole life. The company basically got bought out by a non union competitor. Funny thing was is that the Non Union competitior paid a higher wage, had bonuses and actually had a matching 401K

I define my sense of wealth by how unburdened I am, and money isn't nessecarily always a catylst for this.
This.

I want to spend as much time doing whatever I want, whenever I want. And I never want to owe anyone anything.

Yea. I have a neighbor that used to laugh at the loans he'd sign people up for.

The deck is stacked against anyone who doesn't have a degree or already have money. Just the way it is

I have plenty of money and I still watch nearly every penny. I will NOT buy any groceries not on sell. I drive an old car. I have pretty cheap clothes. I rarely eat at nice restaurants.

I just don't feel sorry for people that live outside of their means

LOL

What are the top five? Strange how those completely irrelevant things correlate perfectly with the phenomenon of economic stratification. Even the onset of the automation age and the opening of international "free trade" were preempted by the correlation 1980-1994.

But, sure, your unverifiable anecdote outweighs that. Is your next line going to be about the welfare queen you totally saw driving a porsche and using an iPhone X?

Not sure where he lives, but that is straight middle or even lower middle some places in the country, upper middle in rural or low-cost areas. $100,000 is pretty solid middle to slightly upper middle in my area, I'd say.

I’ve worked all over the country on a similar salary and lived high on the hog, including the Bay Area.

100% agree.

I essentially retired at 40 because I invested enough to do so and my family can still live a decent life. Wife still works by choice.

Could never have done it if I had not started investing at 17/18

I watch people killing themselves just so they can have a nicer car and nicer phone. More power to them it's just not me

Lol...yea i know exactly what type of loans your neighbor is referring to.

We offered similar products at this accounting firm I use to work at.

We had specific products that would target lower income folk...those who couldn't afford our services wirhout taking out a loan.

It was pretty disgusting imo.

I would often talk many of my clients out of it...
I would be like, "listen, borrow a few hundred from a friend or fam member ...you don't need to be paying this much interest on a loan..."

Morally I couldn't rip people off like that .

Good for you dude...

I'm still paying off student loans. Lol.

But living comfortably .
Still able to vacation about 2 or 3 times a year...

Not struggling paycheck to paycheck .

Being broke sucks ass...i know we all have stories

Yea. Nothing else happened around that time that could drag down wages. Lol! And u act as if this is just an American problem. It's a First World Problem

Welfare queen? Ok. Nothing I've posted would indicate I'm speaking of the truly needy. But I'm not surprised u are bringing it there.

The natural progression of automation. It's been happening longer u think. Cheap labor flooding the market is a huge drag on wages.

I'm sorry, but spouting Tax Cuts is killing the worker just isn't going to fly with most people no matter how loud u scream it in the sky.

Yea. He's pretty much hated in the neighborhood here. He's the look at me type guy
