International Russia/Ukraine Megathread V15

Whether Russia will "win" the war in Ukraine remains a subject of intense debate among military analysts and world leaders, as of February 2026. While Russia currently occupies approximately 20% of Ukrainian territory, experts argue that it is paying a large price for small gains.

The Case for a Potential Russian "Win"
Supporters of the view that Russia could ultimately prevail highlight its vast resources and long-term strategy:
  • War of Attrition: Russia believes it can outlast Ukraine and Western support by leveraging its superior manpower and domestic weapons production.
  • Territorial Control: Russia holds significant portions of the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, and Kherson regions. Some argue that retaining any seized territory constitutes a "win" for Putin.
  • Infrastructure Degradation: Constant strikes have disabled roughly 50% of Ukraine's power generation, aimed at breaking Ukrainian civilian morale.
  • Global Alliances: Continued support from China, Iran, and North Korea—including thousands of North Korean troops—has been crucial in sustaining Russia's military operations.
  • Manpower & Production:
Russia has a larger population for conscription and produces more of its own weapons, unlike Ukraine, which relies heavily on foreign aid.

Potential Scenarios for 2026 and Beyond
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) identifies several plausible paths for the conflict:
  1. Prolonged Low-Intensity Conflict: A "forever war" where neither side makes a breakthrough, preventing Ukraine from joining the EU or NATO.
  2. Ceasefire/Peace Agreement: Pressure from the Trump administration and international partners may lead to a negotiated settlement, though Putin has historically refused deals that do not include the total control of the Donbas.
  3. Russian Breakthrough: A collapse of the Ukrainian military, which remains unlikely given current defensive capabilities and long-range strike successes.

There is one question for Mr.Fedorov.
He had told " russians " ....and in such case he is wrong.
Russia also is continuing to hire foreigners, for valuable foreigners Putin is offering to grant russian citizenship and help to hide identity too. Ofc there is qusetion is about not noobs but usable guys....

South Africa and India & China are angry cos Putin is hiring their citizens.

XI might implement sanctions if chinesse citizens will be continued hired for small special operation....
Sanctions might be till cease of lithium etc sales...

Cubans Putin is hiring usually does have some years of real training under belt.
Like some % from guys from former soviet block too : from these some % aren't noobs and they are more valuable if does knows at least basic russian...
Some teams are using english or spanish language cos doesn't knows basic russian.

Russia obiviously had failed to meet terms for India deal again.
They didn't had supplied AWACS in time, equipment for AWACS, some avionics kits and so on.

From one point it is bad for europe cos Modi wants Micron to sell Meteor missiles, adapters kits for pylons and some other models missiles. Money on the table.
France does have adapters kits for pylons usable with soviet/ russian airplanes to get possible some western weapons usage.
Tested in Ukraine, so micron might ask normal $€ for these.

From another point they at least had really supplied pylons etc stuff for ukr allowing to use not only Mirage to use french gliding bombs and some missiles but also Mig 29, Su 27, Su 24 and Su 25 might be used.

Dunno, had they supplied also tagging pods and laser guided gliding bombs. They are immune vs radioelectronic warfare but needs someone to point target with laser beam....

There ofc are suspicions that pumpvance tales that russia wants just donetsk oblastj are fairy tales for mainstream public. Maybe also for pump too.

Donestsk oblastj due to geography is more difficult to conquer than Dnepropetrovsk or Zaporozia oblastj.

Also it is suspected that Putin with intent had on paper annexed all Kherson oblastj ...for a reason.
If russia will control ALL Kherson oblastj in it's administrative borders ukraine will have 0 chances to keep Odessa oblastj.
Reality that west will throw ukraine under bus with security guarantees regardless from papers they will sign is 100%. Only an idiot might waste time with this unless is paid to gave attention and waste time.

🤣
You sure know your stuff.
Army Captains are now Battalion Commanders? Would this be in the Ukrainian Army? Who are the Company Commanders?
I suspect that you even had 0 interest about military and yes, I do know stuff even about Rus military better than you know about U.S military. You had proved yourself as uninterested in military technique and military in general during 4 years in row.

And yes, captain in certain situation might be assigned to fultfill batallion commander duties. In U.S and Russia too.

Unit with +/- 30 guys is supposed to be ruled by sergeant or ranked higher. With exceptions.
Units with 120 guys and more by commisioned officer in rank of leutenant and higher.
However IF during war condition commisioned officer had died or isn't usable, his post might take praporschik in sov military and IF, then starshina...

Soviet ranks were with 3 sergeant ranks, then higher was starshina and higher was praporschik ( last rank below commisioned officers ).
Units with 120- 150 guys had been intended to be ruled by commisioned officer unless some emergency situations...

ruski telegram knows what it's society needs in the coming times:

Russia is short of psychologists to rehabilitate special operation participants. We must begin preparing now for the mass return of troops from the front.

As a result, those willing to help the country now have the opportunity to earn additional income. You can now study psychology online, earning a state-recognized psychology diploma. Start earning money while working full-time in the sixth month.

Due to increased demand, the licensed Smart Psychology Institute (a Skolkovo resident) is opening its winter admissions program. You can expect over 400 hours of practical training, working with real clients, and a guaranteed first income, as stipulated in your contract.

Take a short test to determine the right psychology major for you and receive a grant of 60,000 rubles, which will cover a significant amount of your expenses

Why do you think I'm on this thread?
I served in the U.S. military for 20 years. 1988 to 2008. U.S. Army to be exact. Captains in the U.S. Army are Company Grade Officers. In an Infantry unit they would command a Company. An Infantry Battalion would be commanded by a Lieutenant Colonel.

It's hella amusing to see the Russians on the bottom of the ladder get frustrated,
They start to kind of realise that their leadership doesn't care about effectiveness/competence, it's focussed on loyalty/control.
This used to only be obvious when it came to the top brass, now it seems like they're worried about the cannonfodder too.

Care to back that statement up with some facts?
That is a complete lie. I don't know what conflict you are referring to. This is the Ukraine/Russia conflict thread.
Stop talking about Russia and talk about Ukraine. How big is the Ukrainian Army? How many casualties did it have over the past 30 days? How many new soldiers has it been able to recruit and keep?

The fact is, it has been 4 fucking years and they haven't demonstrated the capability, lmao

Simple fact is Putler cares more about control and his lies rather then the lives of the soldiers on the front line.

Ukraine is the best army in NATO and it's not even close.
EU armies got absolutely shit-kicked by the Ukrainians in war games, as in a single drone team wiped out 2 NATO battalions.
And yet we still have retards who still think the Ukrainian & Russian armies are some shitty 3rd rate powers that NATO can just roll right over in a weekend if they wanted to.

Details: The article describes the Hedgehog 2025 exercise, which involved more than 16,000 service members from 12 NATO countries. Ukrainian drone experts also trained alongside them, including soldiers deployed from the front.

Quote: "In Ukraine the front line is largely frozen, but Hedgehog envisioned a battlefield where tanks and troops still have some ability to move. During one scenario, a battle group of several thousand troops, including a British brigade and an Estonian division, sought to conduct an attack. As they advanced, they failed to account for how drones have made the battlefield more transparent, several sources say.

The NATO battle group was 'just walking around, not using any kind of disguise, parking tents and armored vehicles', recalls one participant, who played an enemy role. 'It was all destroyed'."

Details: Melchior notes that during the exercise Ukrainian personnel used the Delta system, which gathers battlefield intelligence in real time, analyses it, identifies targets and coordinates strikes between command and units.

Quote: "A single team of some 10 Ukrainians, acting as the adversary, counterattacked the NATO forces. In about half a day they mock-destroyed 17 armored vehicles and conducted 30 'strikes' on other targets."

Details: One participant stated that the team managed to "eliminate two battalions in a day".

If about pro ukr YT guys ... Oleg is working with maps normally while his oponions about EU politicians are pro russia biased KGB style..
Guy does have YT channel for money in his pocket with some 177-178 k subs.
While he is wrong about Kallas cos is KGB asset for a living and therefore is portraying Kallas as Soros protegee.
Kallas is more realistic and brutal than Putin might dream about to be in dreams.
