Riddler, "All it took was fear, and a little focussed violence".

The couple in front of me keep talking and playing with their phones until I kick the backs of their chairs so hard they nearly fall into the aisle. After that, they STFU and turn the phones off.

The part I love most about this scene is when Batman looks down and is clearly thinking, "Oh, SHIT!" We're used to seeing the Dark Knight as fearless, no matter what the odds or how dangerous the challenge. This film is more realistic; no matter how well trained and highly motivated someone is, they will be afraid in life-threatening situations.

Batman has to take a moment to psyche himself up before jumping. Unlike the Nolan movies, he's not able to use his cape to fly. He has to use a Wing Suit, which of course do exist in real life. And he still needs a mini-parachute to land, and even then it's a hard landing that leaves him groaning in pain.

This movie is about as realistic as you could get when your protagonist is a billionaire who dresses up as a bat to fight crime.

During the last fight...

Batman is pulled off balance and dragged along the catwalk when two of the Riddler gang grab his cape. All I could think of in that moment was Edna Mole in The Incredibles,

"NO CAPES!" <Lmaoo><45>

It surpassed the Eternals, good news for WB.

To be fair, Eternals was the closest the MCU has had to a complete box office bomb. It performed so poorly that plans for a sequel were dropped.

The Batman is a far superior movie to second-tier MCU films like Eternals, Captain Marvel etc. I personally rank it as one of the best comic book movies yet, alongside Dredd and the best of the MCU. So I'm glad it's making bank. The movie deserves it:cool:

Iv been saying for years now that wb trying to follow marvels "light hearted full of jokes" style is not good

Go other way make it dark with weight

You got joker which was success and now this might be as well

When Alfred is helping Bruce with the cipher, he mentions his, "days in the circus". That sounded odd to me until after the movie was over. Then I remembered that, "The Circus" is an old slang term for the British Secret Intelligence Service, MI6.

Later, when Alfred is recovering in hospital, he apologise to Bruce because, "I could teach you how to fight, but I couldn't be the father you needed". This implies that, unlike other versions of the Caped Crusader, it was Alfred and not Ra's al-Ghul who trained Batman. When Bruce makes a snarky comment about Alfred wearing cufflinks monogramed with the Wayne crest, Alfred shuts him down by stating that Thomas Wayne give them to him after Alfred saved his life.

So this movie's Alfred is a certified bad-ass, as much a bodyguard for the Waynes as their butler. He walks with a cane, indicating he's been injured either as a spy or in the service of the Wayne family.

That brief moment of panic is when I said "Alright, I'm so down with Pattinson as Batman". Such a great and endearing moment.

Man I can’t get this film out of my head! It begs repeated viewings for sure.

The ending is insane, one of the coolest and most badass 30 minutes of any superhero film

I never had any doubts about Pattinson's acting ability. I did think he might struggle with the physicality of the role. But he proved me wrong. 'hespect:cool:

You know what? I can totally get behind this. I had my misgiving but was willing to give him a chance due to the fact I was appalled by Heath ledger as joker then seeing him blow it out of the water like it’s name was belgrano. I was extremely impressed, I wasn’t a big fan of bales Batman (he was a great Bruce Wayne) so for me Patterson takes 2nd place on the list of best batmans.

didn’t see any previews, other than the initial teaser, until after i saw the movie.

previews showed waaaaaaay too much.

I basically did the same. Was so much better off for it

This made me laugh though
