Easy bump up from 8 to 8.5 for me. Holds up remarkably well on the rewatch. Actually enjoyed it more the second time around, knowing where it was going and being able to appreciate some of the subtle stuff.
Seen it with my boyfriend. I liked it personally. I went into it not expecting much despite liking Batman as a character. Came out pretty happy. That Pattinson jawline huh lol.
Was i the only one who was disappointed? As a crime thiller it is a really basic plot with almost no twists and as a batman movie it was ok. Some of the realism was nice and the tech he used seemed possible. My main problem was with the riddler. He just wasnt all that interesting imo. The killings didnt have an effect cause i didnt care about the characters. He was also a little small as batman. I did like that he was batman 85% of the movie. With a different villain I think i would have liked it more. Valcone was miscast as well, that actor had zero intimidation to himself.
After looking at reviews and even this poll, I'm a little confused and feel like I'm missing something.
Wasn't a big fan of it, and ultimately found this movie a bit boring. I appreciated how they had this movie focus on Batman's detective side, but most pf the time, it felt like he wasn't getting anywhere, with half of the work and hints being given to him by the people around him. Maybe that was the point, to make him more human as opposed to super duper at everything, but it just felt off having him along for the ride going in circles.
Like, when I first saw him standing and staring, I thought, oh he's thinking, he's about to come up with something, until halfway into the movie I realized, oh, he has no idea what's going on lmao.
Also, the entire time I felt like I was waiting for a big reveal that never happened.
I thought it was implied that many of the cops and Justice department were dirty and had ties to the mafia. Then the big reveal was.... Falconi was in charge all along! So, yeah, they were under the mafia
It was a young, inexperienced, angsty, and immature Batman, so it made sense for him to be bumbling around a bit, but maybe a bit too dependent upon others here.
Strong first half, but droned on for a total of 3 hours.
Maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention but it didn’t feel like Batman did much to solve the killings. It was just done for plot convenience.
why didn’t the cops check the mayors garage after his murder?

Didn't like hardly any Bruce it was al.ost all Batman... didn't like the softie turn at the end , didn't like how there was no real development of Riddler they just threw in a half baked back story at the end.

The Kravitz kid was actually really good as Cat woman much better thsn Hathaway IMO.

I did I know it's the dude from Eternals as the voice but they never show the face so it could be swapped . Maybe he would be great at the role. I just remember how much I liked Pheenix in Joker.

That whole falconi shit couldve been ripped out. I just simply didnt care about his history, the result of it, and i wasnt concerned for anyones safety around him.
It seemed like this was a realistic batman, but fuck no, i was checked out after some super ridiculous parts. Dark Knight is still the superior.
