The Anime and Manga Thread v48

Top 5 anime, I've rewatched it many times. That and Champloo
I can't get over John wick4 and the cowboy bebop similarities. One major anyway.

I'd love it on motion picture but holly weird makes everything woke and cuck. Likely it's better off left anime.

I also like there's a ambiguous yet definitive ending up in cowboy bebop. I still expect a John wick5 given its box office performance.

I'm mostly into Japanese Manga anime. It just delivers in ways that the rest fail but I'm open to alternative.

Absolutely awesome anime. A boomer recommded it. Honestly.

Any recommendations for animes?

Sure, plenty.

Using Cowboy Bebop as reference, the aforementioned Samurai Champloo is its spiritual successor, made by much the same people. Then there is of course also the movie if you didn't watch it. Another anime that always gets mentioned with Bebop due to similarities would be Outlaw Star. And if you want something with episodic content that coexists with an overarching plot that gradually get unrevealed, then I can't speak highly enough of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex; though it might fall under "long drawn out narratives."

From Naruto and DBZ, I will just say that Hunter x Hunter is the best shounen by far.

You can't really go wrong with any of these, but the one that I would recommend to you that first comes to mind would be Baccano!.

You should definitely give it another go. I'm all caught up with it n been really good. It makes you enjoy the side characters just as much as the main.
Ah. Well I’ve heard similar comments about the art.

Has nice action sequences. I’m enjoying it.
I tried it again. The end of the second chapter has this:

I mean...c'mon. Really? Firing the entire case? This isn't the first series I've seen that made this mistake, but it's such an obvious didn't-even-attempt-to-do-the-research error that I cannot take it seriously. Glad you guys enjoy it, but my second chance didn't even make it through two chapters.

Lol. Yeah I remember that.

They fix that mistake the very next chapter with the case being extracted.

What are you confused about? There are some directions that I think the author wanted to go but changed his mind halfway. I am not sure it's to throw off the audience or it's difficult to weave this giant story.

I think it was the mechanics of how the sorcerer powers work and the motivations of the villains. I'm watching again on subs and I think I'm understanding more. Todo is my GOAT still

I love Japanese. Japanese culture, food, Manga, women <Moves> I almost fought a guy 1x for making fun of Japanese and henti pron. Goof!

Thanks for the recommendation. I like Japanese Manga and storytelling. I ind the west is woke and lazy. Hence the remakes and butchering of formerly great TV or movie.

I thought John wick 4 was amazing and as good as 1 if not better. I highly expect a 5th movie given its box office. Bitter sweet like cowboy bebop. It was actually a boomer who put me onto that anime.

Yes, if you're as me sick to death with the contemporary West, then Japanese media can provide a source of decency and sanity, something ever rarer here. On that note, something that stuck out to me very early was the lack of demonetization of the enemy, often bringing forth his own qualities and even justification of actions that throws our own heroes' in doubt. In other words, not the triumph of good over evil by means of extermination which can not call itself extermination (since the Good Guys of course don't do extermination), but instead breaking the cycle of hatred by means of mutual understanding.

New season of Kengan Ashura drops this Thursday on Netflix.

My manga site is down and out, who can hook me up in the dm?

Started watching Castlevania on Netflix a couple weeks ago. Is it true that a Season 5 is coming out next week?

I think the next set of protagonists are a few generations down the line or was it before? I can't really remember the lore but the main characters will be different.

I need to give this series another shot. Didn’t like the way season 2 ended and never went back but a friend of mine said it maintains its quality even after that.

Lately I have greatly enjoyed Magus of the Library. I have said it before, but the great virtue of all female-created manga is the complete absence of power level-autism, a exclusively male obsession. Gorgeous art, likeable main character, fleshed out and intriguing worldbuilding, and exceptionally use and creation of the greater cast. Still, I sometimes feel that the female sensibility is borderline too much, but it's virtues as so great and of such number that I gladly swallow that little defect.

It's really an exceptional work in multiple aspects, and it's a great shame that the English translation seems to be almost only at half of the Japanese chapters. It's at times like these I really wished I learned Japanese.
