The Anime and Manga Thread v48

Anybody got any fairly new series they're enjoying? I picked up The Priest of Corruption and have been enjoying it, 19 chapters out so far. Surviving the Game as a Barbarian (27 chapters) is another newer release I've been enjoying.

I wish Netflix had more Anime as ridiculously rewarding as Baki Hanma
Yeeeees! I had so much fun watching last season. The over the top homoerotic incestuous father son arc is hilarious to watch. And all these old masters are jelious about it too.
Shitting on western martial arts on top with that ridiculous, meaningless one legged kung fu side-story is the cherry on top.

We also had that already last season with Ali Jr. which makes it even more ridiculous.

Didn't realize part 2 of Baki recently came out. Went on Netflix and had a brain fart thinking it was a older Baki series. Ended up clicking on the last episodes and watching it. Now I'm debating if I should even watch the entire part 2 lol...

I would start from the beginning, Baki on Netflix. It explains the hierarchy, introduces the main and side characters and gives you inside of the "Baki-Universe" which is somewhat a bizzaro world with characters like George Bosch as president etc.

Prison arc is top notch imo.

I don't feel that Baki is the kind of series where the plot is the end all be all, meaning spoilers in my opinion are here less harmful than in other cases. Then again, I'm manga only and a major attraction is its art, and I can't say to what degree it would be meaningful with the anime; but more than that, I was always just drawn to the general atmosphere, enjoying it in a laidback manner. Well, in any case, it doesn't come to mind what exactly you would have been spoiled, but there should be several other fights that you should be able to enjoy.

On that note, the new iteration of the manga, while still only two chapters, has been fun and looks promising.

I've watched it all even the OG series. I meant the 2nd part after the pickle fight.

Which should I watch? There’s Baki and Baki Hanma

Baki Hanma is a continuation of Baki. Watch both. Watch Baki Hanma if you only have time for one though. They really get hilariously awesome in Season 2.

So start with all of Baki and then do Hanma?

Goblin's Night is also being done by Leviatan under the title "Night of the Ogre." It's decent so far.
I Used to be a Boss is on Webtoon as "I Was the Final Boss". Been enjoying it.
I've tried Jungle Juice before but YLAB's universe has never grabbed me for long. Dunno why, they do a lot of stuff that should appeal to me but they never seem to hit.
I've added the rest to my list; thanks for the recs.
