Law Tesla Cars are being lit on fire

Mate, Musk sued them for "pretending" the car broke down and LOST THE FUCKING LAWSUIT because it did actually break down.

Who cares what the airhead bimbo Rogan says about it lmao

Musk's anecdote isn't worth wiping your ass with.

Siver, my dude, you sure got wound up on that one.

No, Tesla couldn't prove that Top Gear caused it to break down so their lawsuit was thrown out. But the Tesla rep who was on set saw the script and they had already written the breakdown in to the script BEFORE they tested it.

For reference, Jeremy WhatsHisName has a history of deception and violence.

My guy, you really need to stop posting Joe Rogan clips as proof of anything. It's actually making your argument less convincing.

I wasn't wound up, lol, but I am prone to type for effect.

Hey, I don't like Clarkson at all and find it hilarious that he and Musk are on odds on this. Clarkson is, undeniably, a petrol head, but also a conservative and vaguely pro-tech.

The one anecdote Musk still tells despite losing the lawsuit and subsequent appeal should be roundly ignored and Rogan should by rights have edited it out of his podcast because it's a flat lie. Clarkson could, theoretically, sue Musk for saying that, but we all know he won't. He could, and he'd win easily. He'd just then be ostracized and end his career because they now share a consumer base.

Both talk utter shit, but on this topic Clarkson is provably and undeniably the one telling the truth.

Anyone can sue anyone in the States, that doesn't mean you're right about anything. Clarkson probably DOESN'T sue him because he knows the script would be subpoenaed and it would be made public knowledge that they indeed did write a breakdown in to the script before it happened.

As I'm sure you are away, the decisions made in courts are not the final arbiter of truth, so I would recommend not leaning so heavily on the court decision in this case.

I appreciate your attempt at overly persuasive language, but that doesn't make anything more false or less true.

It kinda amazes me that anyone listens to anything Rogan has to say anymore. He is so far gone it's almost pathetic how far he has fallen.

Fallen? Not sure, man!

He's the guy from Fear Factor and a throwback commentator for the UFC.

He may have been entertaining enough to generate an audience, but surely that was just 'right place, right time'?

I don't really see what he ever brought to the equation other than being the 'guy next door' when people wanted someone 'real' to explain what was happening. Now everyone's doing it. If he emerged now, he'd be swamped before he started.

Okay, but you get that you're saying "Don't put too much stock in the courts" while also putting even more stock in a 5 second anecdote, right?

Where's this script? Who was the guy who read it? If he had enough time to read it, he could theoretically have got a photo of it or photocopied it? Is there a single shred of evidence any of that even existed/is true?

The court process, we know, did actually happen. So what's the validity of this counter argument?

Interestingly, this doesn't actually even stem from a Tesla engineer like Musk claims, but Clarkson's successor at Top Gear, the guy who failed in monumental fashion, a guy I don't even know who he is: Chris Harris.

Harris told Rogan they "did Tesla dirty", so that's obviously all Rogan needed. He then brings it up to Musk, and Musk invents an engineer that found a script.

How could an engineer have seen a script, and if that did happen, why did the script not form part of the legal case by Tesla?

Oh he's always been a moron, but he used to be a well meaning non-partisan moron.

He was definitely in the right place at the right time. He's one of the first superstar podcasters and now we are living through the podcast era.

That's probably why he pivoted and became a propagandist.

I actually just read Clarkson's article in (I think) The Independent.

He hates Musk because he once did a review of a Tesla on Top Gear, the Tesla broke down, and therefore the review was negative.

So Musk tried to sue Clarkson like the absolute chimp brain he is 🤣

How could an engineer have seen a script when Chris Harris was the one to break the idea to Musk in the first place long after the event?

And if that did happen, why did the script not form part of the legal case by Tesla?

Those are certainly pertinent questions, but at the end of the day, Musk says his rep saw the script where they pre-planned a break down and sued Top Gear or BBC, the lawsuit got thrown out, you say Clark hates Musk as a result, and that Musk is "an absolute chimp brain". Musk may have sued Top Gear or BBC because it really happened, or was bad PR for the Tesla brand, although it didn't matter ultimately given Tesla accounts for 56% of all EVs on the road today.

What now?

What do you mean what now?

How do you know 56 % of all EV's in the world right now are Teslas? I'm struggling to find any data on that, so if you can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

I've seen they once had a 56 % share of EV's sold in the US alone, but that's an old number and worldwide they have about an 18 % share of new vehicles coming through.

Total overall EV's though I don't know.

Ok, what about this aren't you getting?

Why in the world would you believe Elon Musk about this??

I was talking about the US market, and you're right 56% is old. Tesla now only has a measly 44% of the US market, with the next highest being GM with 12.6% and Hyundai in 3rd at 11.4%.

"What now" means what is your conclusion here?

Fair enough mate.

It's also true to say that Tesla had a 100 % market share of EV's in the US, so I'll accept it's unfair to say it's going down because it's going to. 44 % is also too high. They're gonna eventually even out at around... 15 %? And that will be decent, because the market is gonna get saturated quickly.

Anyway, my conclusion all along was that Musk and Rogan can't be taken seriously on this issue regarding Clarkson & Top Gear. The pair of them are not worth quoting in my opinion. Musk just has to take any fleeting criticism from Clarkson on the chin because he lost in a court of law, then lost again, and as far as I can see he is never going to beat Clarkson in a court of law or anywhere else. He has a much bigger platform, though, so I fully expect him to just keep lying about this in the hope the failure of yonder years is overwritten. Which it might be, because that's how truth works these days :(
