Surprised by reaction to Ngannou’s win

that was probably the best i’ve seen frank look. it’s the only time i can think of where he wasn’t relying solely on a natural physical advantage. renan really does suck on the ground, but that’s all the more reason for nggano to take him down. as for whether there’s been any physical decline for frank, the fight was too short to gauge. i would guess probably yes, just based on his age.
???

Francis quite literally won on the ground from simply being big and having power. He looked exactly like a strong white belt grappling while being allowed to punch (to the back of the head), not some Maia grappler.

This was the least technical Francis we've ever seen. At least with Roz he was chin checking an experienced kickboxer moving backwards and dodging which required accuracy to eventually land on him as cleanly as he did. Something I've always praised Francis for as his hand-eye coordination gave him great accuracy.

Wanted & planned to catch the fight but didn't.

Francis was the UFC champ nd left as champ and is now the PFL champ.

Tom is champ of what?

Tell me more TKO employee. Tell me how excited to be for inactive Jon vs Ngannou’s retired leftovers.

Francis isn't the PFL champ. He's the Superfight HW champ which is a made up title for Francis to have competed for as he's not signed to their HW divison but their Superfight division (like Jake Paul). It existed solely for this PPV and whatever person they sign to fight Francis next I guess.

Ferreira is still technically their actual reigning HW champ until this year's HW season concludes with Goltsov vs Popov on November 29 to decide the 2024 HW champion.

What exactly does that make Francis for fighting Ferreira because Ferriera beat a 41 year old Bader?

UFC.

You can't be champ of an organization you aren't a part of. You can be previous champ, but not current champ.

This is why MMA is more WWE then a real sport. It would be like if Oscar made a golden boy title, and his fighters only fought other golden boy fighters.

The UFC title is a promoters title. It doesn't mean much.

There was barely any standup though so how can you say he looked bad in the striking, the fight hit the floor pretty quickly lol

You do know that fighters fight all the time coming off stuff like this, or other emotional shit, right? And often a lot sooner than the nearly 7 months ago like was the case with Francis?

Paddy found out hours before his weigh in against Leavitt that his friend committed suicide. Didn't say nothing and just continued making weight, then went out and finished Leavitt the next night before finally opening up about what he'd been going through and how "I’d rather have my mate cry on my shoulder than go to his funeral next week"

You're fucking kidding right?

well, the francis i’m used to seeing likes to stand and wing punches until something lands. if he does pretty much anything technical or strategic, it’s an improvement. it’s not a very high bar. here, i think it was a smart move to take ferreira down because he’s got a very long reach and some speed for a man his size.

the joshua knockout i think really affected him. it's hard to say with this performance. there isn't much to say based on this performance. but that severe of a knockout combined with his age and the recent loss of his son; all that combined i would say has taken a significant toll. he doesn't have anything else to prove. he can retire now.

Why are you using another username to post more stupidity? Your op post wasn't enough? Also why are you questioning why people like a top fighter on a fighting forum? Youre more emotional than anyone here.
No alts here kid, interesting that you cut half of my post off as you can't deny any of it.

Prize fighting full stop has more in common with WWE than most other sports but 100% spot on with that analogy. Although the last line, unfortunately it means everything in MMA to the majority of people who watch MMA, most aren't interested in anything but the UFC or if one of their friends fights on a local show.

I'm kidding that Francis isn't special for competing nearly 7 months after a personal tragedy by pointing out that countless fighters have done so too as well as much sooner than Francis did?

Like for instance Paddy who competed only 30 hours after his friend committed suicide and now was going to have to be travelling to the funeral in a few days?

Nah, you're the joke if you're just bringing it up trying to score brownie points.

WWE really copied Ali to hype up fights.

Most UFC fans are also the type that watch the WWE. ESPN doesn't usually even cover the events. I went to see a UFC event in a movie theater a few months ago. It was empty. I just recently saw Canelo and it was packed.

A friend committing suicide does not compare to the loss of a 15 month old child. Period.
