Jon is more of an interim champ than Tom is. Tom beat a guy on a long winning streak for the belt Jones beat a guy who was 1-1 in his last 2 and Tom has defend his belt.

Can someone clear me up on the reaction?

I am very neutral and I saw a Francis that has clearly declined. He looked very slow and ploddy in the feet. I wasn’t really impressed by his grappling either, if you’ve seen Renan grapple, you know most jobbers could do that. Took Francis a long time to advance position. Almost got caught in a triangle.

Yet online I see everyone claiming to be impressed or terrified by the performance, and I’m very confused…

I DO NOT see a guy who could challenge Tom Aspinall in any way anymore, Francis did not look the same to me.


Do you guys truly believe you saw the best heavyweight or is it more of a f**k you to Dana or Jon Jones to claim he is?

How many of you truly believe that was a good performance and he could compete with Aspinall?

How many of you would you admit a lot of this is based in emotion?

Purely curious if I live on a different planet or there is more to this?

Well, the entire grappling exchange was less than 2 minutes and it ended with Frank KOing him. So, I'd say that by you saying 'Took Francis a long time to advance position.' either your blind, a hater, or have no concept of time and how it works.

I didnt think Frank Looked like his old self either, but there were alot of factors going into this fight.

Francis was fighting Ferreira because Ferreira beat a 41 year old Bader earlier this year.

Francis quite literally won on the ground from simply being big and having power. He looked exactly like a strong white belt grappling while being allowed to punch (to the back of the head), not some Maia grappler.

This was the least technical Francis we've ever seen. At least with Roz he was chin checking an experienced kickboxer moving backwards and dodging which required accuracy to eventually land on him as cleanly as he did. Something I've always praised Francis for as his hand-eye coordination gave him great accuracy.

Francis isn’t shit- he’s 40 years old and is taking th easy way out in fights
If Renan wasn’t such a can and a big clumsy goof, if that fight had made it to the 2nd round, we would be mocking the PFLs folly
I’ve never been a believer in Francis since Stipe took him for 5 rounds a 50-44 with a 10-8 round
But huggers will say “he knocked stipe out cold 2nd fight” but that’s one punch, not a fight
