Sumo SUMO - 2024 Aki Basho (Sept 8th - Sept 22th)

Solid first day. Takakeisho really had no strength today, very sad to see.
Kotozakura looked sharp
Nephew did not
Onosato with a nice slap down at the rope

The decline of Keisho is heartbreaking.
Nephew looking very good today, he always has Daieisho figured out.

Takerufuji looks so good, I need him out of Juyro immediately.

Yeah it's all ogre for Takakeisho it seems.

Tobizaru tried all the shenanigans on Onosato but nothing worked.

Kotozakura looking like a strong Ozeki to me.

Get your wins in now while you can boys, 'cause Takerufuji is looking healthy and inevitable.

I tell you what, if Ichinojo had had the will to win that Hiradoumi possesses, he'd have been Yokozuna for sure.

Lord of chaos creeping up.

Onosato looking like your next Ozeki. Even if he doesn't get it this time, he's getting it soon.

Also congrats to our Irishman Tom O'Washi for breaking the consecutive bouts record. 1631, absolute savage man of steel.

Shodai doing well in week 1 is so bizarre.

Big Ono and Kotozakura looking like they'll both hit at least 11 wins this basho.

Hoshoryu's blood boils with the heat of a thousands suns for the Tobi shenanigans.

Week 2 Shodai is a little early. I can't tell if he'll continue next week or just implode. The chaos is unpredictable

Terunofuji's body is desperate for Takerufuji and Onosato to reach their maximum potential by like next year.

I swear, Hiradoumi deserves the fighting spirit prize already. Dude gives 110% every match.

Onosato looking unstoppable five days in.

Battle of the Yokozuna grandsons is the match of the Basho for me so far.

Takerufuji, coming to a top division near you in January 2025. Preorder your tickets now to see him win a second Makuuchi Yusho whilst making everyone around him look like plebs.

Man, I'm bummed out. I was supposed to be in Nagano this September and Fukuoka this November, but our travel plans changed and it's Nagoya in November and Tokyo for now.

Everything sumo is already sold out for Tokyo :(
