Stupid: Men's Health Muscle Madness

Men's Health on Squats...

It's (squats) also a good predictor of your effectiveness in leg-dominant sports such as skiing.

Couldn't they have listed another sport? Not knocking on skiing but, c'mon.

Men's Health ran a "30 best gyms" in America, and the list was pretty good. It included the likes of West Side Barbell, South Carolina Barbell and Joe Defranco's gym.

This is the best article they have done is quite a while - on the "5 new rules for strength" (the rules are not really new):

They just pulled all of the names off of internet forums.

I should become a yoga instructor, then post pics of all the chica's who end up coming over later.

don't hate on yoga.

Lol, I wasn't, both that and Pilates are no joke. But yeah, that's all most of the women's mags have you do to 'tone up' and lose the 'chubby' butt and thighs. And the 'weights' are usually the foo-foo pink ones--unless you're really strong, in that case they recommend the purple ones...

I'd make fun of yoga, but Scott Yard does it, and I'm pretty sure he could bench press me into the stratosphere.

That's because the guys who write Men's Health don't know the difference between strength and power.

The way they categorized things, they seem to think "power" comes from lower-body lifts, and "strength" comes from upper-body lifts and Oly lift variants.

"Look, Superman, that Bizarro is throwing away the cereal and eating the box!"

Mens Health knows their shit.

I was given a book called "The Home Workout Bible" and other than the fact that the Programming section was sub-par (most important IMO), the book was good. I think they focused on giving people too many options, and not really stressing the core movements, though. They ragged on quarter squats pretty hard too.
