Students Suspended Indefinitely For Confederate Flag

Many people died. Many Jews were rounded up and put in camps(just like the Americans did with the Japanese). Many died from starvation(resources were diverted to feed the German army), and many died from disease(such as typhus). A real tragedy, with responsibility shared among many countries imo.

Yeah man, jews in Europe, same as the japanese americans. Same death toll too.

Lol. Once again, the college dropout is using big words he doesn't understand. If you say the Germans were "annihilated", that would mean there wouldn't be any Germans today because they destroyed from history.

I disagree he started the war. He was just taking back countries that were once a part of greater Germany pre-ww1. Germany was confined and abused with the treaty of Versailles, not surprised they tried to restore old glory, and they did a damn good job imo.

D, your mom is going to be super pissed when she realizes you've been going to white supremacist sites.

Looking to e-suicide?

While I think he's often been pretty ridiculous, this is quite far afield.

Who said the holocaust didn't happen?

Japanese interment camps were pretty bad, but they weren't rounded up and murdered wholesale like the European Jews in the late 30s/early 40s. Hitler had a final solution to the Jew problem. We were just attacked by Imperial Japan, and thus rounded up all Japanese americans we could find, looking for traitors and enemies (weren't going to find many, ofcourse). The jews as a whole were not at "war" with anyone at the time, and yet were still rounded up and executed.

It's not really comparable if you know your actual history. Oh, but the Paper Swan book was pretty good ;)

Also, how did the discussion change from the North/South/Union/Confederacy to Hitler not being such a bad guy?

Germany invaded Poland through wartime means. In response, UK and France (and everyone else basically) declared war on Germany. Germany had a pact with Russia to split Poland, but ended up pulling a swerve and turned on them.

Thus, Germany started World War II. Japan/China/Russia were already fighting in the 30s, but WORLD WAR II started because Germany invaded Poland. It had nothing to do with taking back what they figured was rightfully theirs - it was a matter of self preservation, population control and yes, world domination. They had already annexed Austria without much resistance, so the push for Poland was unnecessary. They were pushing the boundaries on what they could do, and ended up paying the price for it.

I don't think you know your history as well as you think you do... you might as well stop before further embarrassing yourself.

The slave states that joined had certain reasons for joining, didn't just do it willy nilly.

Kentucky tried to remain neutral until the Confederacy made their way into the state. Then they sided with the Union, even knowing they were a slave state.

Maryland was pro-Confederate, but Lincoln declared martial law and sent in militia. He ended up arresting any secessionist and placed control over the state (and the capital) and thus, Maryland is pro-Union.

Missouri essentially voted against secession, and it's pro-Confederate governor and army were forced out by the federal forces and pro-Union types.

Virginia was broken up and West Virginia was created specifically because of the slavery issue. Virginia had two governments.

Not sure what your point really is, but it's clear that those states who wanted to be pro-Union, had to overcome the slavery hurdle. Most did, and those who didn't ended up losing a war.

And yes, it does make sense...

First of all professor, I know all the history you just posted

Big D is well known for his rabid hatred of both Muslims and Jews; no wonder he likes Hitler.

Maryland was a unique case and really had no choice except to be in the Union, but I guarantee you that Kentucky, NY, and Delaware had zero intention of ending slavery. If they had, surely one of them would have made it illegal in their own state beforehand instead of waiting until Lincoln made it illegal in the southern states.

Because of a bunch of hicks defending the African slave trade because it didn't reach the death toll of WWII.

Well this is one of those conversations that tends to go nowhere except name calling. People talk past one another, and nothing gets resolved so I'll just drop it.. Not really that important of a point to make, not that anybody too the time to understand it...

Scrody brought it up.. Desperate attempt to distract from his dropout, but w/e.

Big D is well known for his rabid hatred of both Muslims and Jews; no wonder he likes Hitler.

I take offense to this, buddy. I don't hate Muslims or Jews, but I do strongly dislike religion. When it comes to Islam, I am just pointing out how there tends to be many more violent zealots that adhere to the religion than others. I've heard many, even Bill Maher, make the same point and it has nothing to do with hating Muslism bro.

I called no names.

Bill Maher spreads his hate equally. You claim to hate all religions but strangely let Christianity slide.

I called no names.

He's just trying to dodge out of addressing anything anyone said, don't worry about it.

I called no names.

True, but it's far off topic. I'd rather not derail the thread.

No..

Uh...

Big D hitting new lows.

Big D is a fucking idiot.

Hey Big D stormfront is that way

It was already derailed by the time I read all the jibba jabba between you and everyone else. Thread automatically would have gone to the Civil War/North and South debate, but when Hitler was brought up I was a bit surprised. Genius politician, horrible human being. And a bad war strategist.

Scrody brought it up from an entirely unrelated thread.

Genius politician? I agree. Horible human being? Debatable. Bad war strategist? Meh. Took over Europe for 6 years..

"acts of this nature have no place in America and must be removed from thoughts, words, and actions"

Is that from the First Amendment? I can't remember.

But whatever, their world their rules. Don't put that shit on "America" though, guys. I think freedom of thought is going to hold out for a while.
