Media Stricklands head coach disappointed in Sean - sides with his critics

i mean i don't know how he's surprised by Strickland's style. he's been fighting this way for literally years now. he even fought this way AFTER nearly knocking Adesanya out, which is how the fight went to decision.

someone else mentioned this in another thread, but they were correct. Strickland's right hand is uncoordinated, telegraphed and ugly. he's too slow and stiff to throw his 2 after his 1 which is why he jabs the majority of the fight. when he does throw his right you can see how uncomfortable and forced it is for him.

what they should've been working on, and maybe they do and Strickland just can't do it, is hooking off his jab. especially now that he has access to training with Pereira i figured he'd be able to do that better. or right shoulder feinting to load his left hook. just something that can be dangerous, otherwise guys like DDP will just tank his jab and swarm because they know he doesn't have any meaningful offense that can hurt them.

My theory about this is that Strickland only attacks on favorable openings, and there are only a limited number of favorable openings per round

So if you tell him to increase the pace and push the offense, he'll want to, but then when he doesn't see those favorable openings, then that intended extra offense just won't happen. And if he did unleash more offense by accepting less favorable openings, then he would take way more return damage than he dished out

Yeah, Sean definitely sucks. Australia thinks so. Sherdoggers think so. The general public thinks so. Other fighters think so. His own coach thinks so. It's unanimous.

Man, he had Chamma by his side too and all he did was throw up a dud. Absolute horrible performance. He needs to improve.

Eric want to coach champions and he already have great champs like Francis Ngannou, Chris Curtis and Brad Tavares so he doesn't need Sean.

Girl talk out in public -- not a good look.

Bitch Nicksick explaining to his girlfriend Ariel -- how Sean, his assh0le husband got his ass kicked at work and needs to find himself.

Ariel is all-in on the gossip...

<{nope}>

did he coach him during those camps? Francis got a different boxing coach and worked mostly with dewey cooper, eric said he showed up in the final 2 weeks to just be there for him as a friend, not as a coach. There's not much eric could help francis with in terms of boxing anyway lol
Plus that amount of money is completely different. That's 10 mil anyone takes that fight against aj. Pantoja would box aj for 10 mil.

is it just me or is this basically telling Sean that he needs to be more coach-able or else he's not welcome at the gym anymore?

Very interesting.
Tbh, that’s kinda what it sounds like, especially since he mentioned that he wants to train world champions; he almost sounds like he’s tried of Sean

DDP is Sean's Johnny Hendricks
Except instead of being a GOAT champion, Sean is a one-off wannabe champ that cries a lot, so there is no parallel for him.

Come to think of it, Johnny never made anyone cry like DDP did to Sean also. But then, Hendricks wasn't fighting a sensitive little girl like Sean. Also, no one else's own coach turned against them like Sean's, ROFL

Guys like Sean and Leon who can't get out of first gear even with a lot of shit on the line obviously have some kind of mental block that is affecting their performances. No person who is mentally in check is going to have ZERO urgency in the championship rounds of a title fight like those two have time and time again..

I think when you do something for 10 years straight and find success, it becomes extremely difficult to change your habits. It's instinctually by that point.
