Strength training for the puny

Fatty's gonna be happy you managed about 4 pages without one of those annoying red posts *glances at thread title* hang on...WTF???!

You guys do realise you managed more OT posts in this log in one night than in the year and a hlaf its been running prior to that? I'd say I'm impressed, but you had a beer conversation without me and frankly I'm hurt.

My local supermarket had an offer on buying Hobgoblin so I've got a bunch of bottles of that in at the mo, plus some old growler, old tom, a few bottles of old slug (I like me a good porter, but why do they all have 'old' in the title?) and some tanglefoot.

Various people said:
1) Whats your PR for push press? Wanna race to 250?

2) Ice Cube: It was a good day?

3) How thick is your pinching apparatus?

4) I'm sitting here drinking a beer, watching a rugby match and chatting about random things with you guys. Good times.

5) damn nice job on the #3 smashius
1) my push press is 200 (yeah I know I suck at it compered to strict), I don't know about 250, I'm still aiming to get 225.

2) Nope, already used that track for another lifting session. You're on the right genre, but nowhere near obscure enough. I have a love of underground hip-hop.

3) That's a rather personal question :) I was using two 45lb plates (my gym has a couple of steel plates in lbs for no apparent reason) I was sticking a DB handle through the middle and then sticking more plates onto that to make it more difficult.

4) Who was playing? The semi-finals of the playoffs in the English premier league start this weekend, so I'm lloking forward to watching Tigers destroy the opposition on route to winning the final.

5) Thanks, I'll get it strict soon.

In other news I'm still bloody waiting on that shipping quote from FBBC, I want some bigger steel god dammit!

Aah, you're a Leicester fan are ya? Good on you.

The match I was watching last night was just an old test match between France and NZ.

Finding recent rugby is next to impossible here in canada. I've been scouring the internet for good torrent sites or other such nonsense, but only so many pop up.

How much steel are you buying?
I'm trying to buy one of the advanced bender's bags, figure that'll keep me busy for a while, unfortunately paypal is now fucking with me.

Alan - I grew up in Leicester, have been a tigers fan since I was about 7, seeing them poised to win a treble makes me indescribably excited, just three more matches to go.

I'm not very familiar with british and european teams, but now I have a team to look for during the semis and finals now.

I wasn't a huge fan of Hobgoblin the one time I had it. Ya know what I do like, though? Young's Double Chocolate Stout.

Smashnuts, can you post a vid of your push press? At your strength level, I feel like you should be able to hit more than 200. I'm wondering if you could use some technique refinement.

Yes. I was actually about to say that as a fellow American, I'm adopting you for the push press race. $10 on Ms. Chatz!

They just built a new brew house and restaraunt close to where I work. I went there for lunch and had a bbq chicken pizza (a whole one) and a tall glass of their Porter. Shit was good.

For those who haven't had Fat Tire, it's a bit like New Castle, and it's pretty good. Heineken lager (red label) is good if you can find it.

sweet...so now its us (me, you and mickey) vs the foreigners (standard, alan, and smashius)

Yes. Delicious, but entirely unavailable in Michigan.

A tragedy. perhaps we can work out a deal. St wilhelms hoody and shipping for an appropriate amount of fat tire and shipping?

?????

I must have had a different Fat Tire, as I swear it was a wheat. Perhaps I'm thinking of something different altogether.

Havent had their lager. There's lot of good micro-brews available in california though. there's a great 2-level liqour store in my area called "High Times" that has a great selection

Its an amber

Fat Tire Amber Ale, from New Belgium Brewing, features a Belgian-style balance of malt and hops

If I'm adopting you, then we're going to have to work up a game plan. You're not losing to a tree-hugging Canadian and you're sure as HELL not losing to a crumpet-eating wanker as long as I'm backing you.

I like this idea. I've still got to put an order in for those things.

Don't you guys have Bev Mos in your area? I thought they were nation wide....

Bev Mo = Beverages and More. It's what we drinkers like to call "heaven". It's aisle upon aisle of nothing but beer, wine and booze.

The place was called BJ's Brew House and Restaraunt. There's one in Pamona and I think there's one in Long Bi-otch.
