* Stipe refusing to fight until contract is re-negotiated !

No it's not actually part of the business. Conor negotiates his salary for every fight. So did Ronda. And so did Silva.

If the UFC was required to renegotiate Stipe's deal it would be done but they're not obligated at all; just because they were willing to with Mcgregor and Rousey doesn't mean they are with Stipe. Stipe signed his own deal and he's locked in, you can be upset about it all you want but that's what HE signed. Not part of the business? Do you even have a clue? It IS the business.

No I think in retrospect people realize thaat had Overeem Had striked instead of going for a guillotine Stipe Head would of came off.
He screwed up and went all in on that stupid aas submission and got Ko, if it happens again I see a calm Overeem KTFO of stipe.

He's not championship material now that the horse meat is off the table. Reem isn't capable gutting it out when things start going wrong for him; he either dominates from start to finish, which was more pragmatic during the ubereem saga, or folds under pressure. In the UFC, You have to have heart and a good chin to stay at the top of the heap.

If the UFC has the right to terminate a fighter's current contract and then try to renegotiate then I think it's only fair for the fighters themselves to have that right as well.

This makes zero sense.

Conor, Ronda, Silva, GSP etc. can renegotiate their contract but Stipe can't because you said so? Lol ok bud.

Reem and Hunt got paid like 800k for their last fight but those guys been around the block K1, Pride you name it.

Stipe is a fresh champ not many people knew who he was until he start KOing people left and right keep this up and he'll force UFC's hand because people will be waiting in lines to see him fight.

I like Stipe but no one forced him to sign his contract. Get paid when your contracts up and hire an agent or a better one. It's his own damn fault for not getting what he feels he's worth.

Go get paid, Stipe.

The UFC is horrible at promoting fighters. Unless they can shit talk. The UFC is just useless.

Dude from Ohio, who happens to moonlight as a Paramedic/firefighter. And he's knocking out the biggest names in the sport, in the FIRST fuckin round. One win away from a UFC record.

If you can't sell that. You're not very good at your fuckin job.

I thought he was a Croat though. Or was that just a thing he did for a little.

Such brilliant insight. So deep, bro.

I personally feel like if it is conveyed to consumers that UFC values someone, by paying them well, promoting them properly and speaking highly of them, that that positive message will be conveyed to fans/consumers and will grow on them.

Stipe is a quiet guy, doesn't like to do interviews, but he beats the shit out of the best HWs. That alone is valuable. But if UFC doesn't put that out there, then naturally a lot of fans won't pay too much attention.
Wow, you're acting like a contract isn't a legally binding agreement. Do you say this when you sign a contract as well and you don't feel like honoring it?

okay then, your HW champion on the brink of being your greatest HW of all time isnt going to fight

leverage

they pay him more or he doesnt fight

i think hes got the upper hand

And this would be a bad thing exactly how...?

Besides, that's not the point. The point is, other WMMA fighters weren't better off because Ronda any more than male fighters ae because Conor. No other fighter is making more money because of those two other than those two, period.

Right, time to set the record straight. Cuz what you said is BULLSHIT.

1. UFC 163: Before Conor McGregor, Aldo headlined against Korean Zombie, Buyrate : 180,000

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFC_163

Aldo got $260,000 show money http://thesportsdaily.com/mma-manifesto/ufc-163-fighter-salaries-attendance-gate/

2. UFC 169: Next fight, Aldo was the CO-MAIN event (lol!!) against Ricardo Lamas, Buyrate: 230,000

Jose Aldo's salary: $120,000 to show money http://www.bjpenn.com/mmanews/estimated-fighter-purses-for-ufc-169-event/

Pretty f**king low, right???

3. UFC 194: After that, Aldo headlined against McGregor at UFC 194, Buyrate: 1,400,000.

Not to mention, the more exposure and selling of more merchandise, etc.etc. Almost 8 TIMES larger than his last headline event. the only variable is that he was fighting Conor McGregor.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFC_194

Aldo's purse: $400,000 .
More than twice than his headline last fight.

Conclusion:

Aldo's salary increased as a direct result of fighting McGregor.

Conclusion:
Stop spreading lies, because YOU are wrong. PERIOD.

Stipe is making good money. If you want to make 800k, be a star and draw some PPV.

It looks like Stipe is going to be another Aldo and DJ where they think just because they are champions, they should be the highest paid people on the roster. In a team sport where winning is all that matters, that might be the case. This is prize fighting and a PPV-based product. You make money based on how much you draw and how many buys you can bring on PPV. Stipe isn't drawing a dime outside of Cleveland.
When Stipe produces the profit like the other names than he should be asking for more money.
He signed the contract knowing what could happen so honor it and then move onto a new one that's better for him
or... instead of any of this...

demand more money and dont fight until you get it

lol hes the best heavyweight on the planet and has the belt. you pay him or he doesnt fight.

its called 'business'.

I sometimes forget who is the current UFC HW Champ? If Stipe never fights again...

OwpZL_s-200x150.gif
So be it...

Good he deserves it. He defends his belt and finishes opponents. It's what every fight fan should want out of there champion. And lol at all of this honoring the contract talk. In every other sport, guys hold out for more money, and you don't think a prize fighter should be able to.

good he deserves more then Reem and Hunt

first of HW is way way over-payed on a whole, myself ive never bought a PPV because of a HW fight.

but no way should your reigning and defending champ be payed less then whomever he fights, Period.

i dont care if one guy is more popular or not.
