LMAO you think that was prime wand too now?People give Fedor some mystical aura when he had clear flaws when he fought. Werdum and Henderson were the first two to people to show them.
Wanderlei Silva is another Pride fighter people heaped praise on when his striking was sloppy. People made money on the Silva vs Leben fight because they saw it was bad match up for the former Pride LHW champion.
I agree that Stipe’s striking defense can be inconsistent, but I’m not going to criticize Stipe for exploiting his opponents weaknesses, something every fighter should be doing. Fedor diving into Werdum’s guard didn’t demonstrate anything other than how to get submitted by a foolish game plan.I think the biggest problem Stipe would have fighting in the mid/late 00's would be his standup defence personally, I mean he's not bad but I think he is quite inconsistent and has been caught looking stiff and upright a few times.
In the current era he's tended to be able to avoid aggressive striking matches, guys like JDS, Arlovski and Reem he could exploit their weakness backing up, Werdum his own questionable defence, Hunt and Ngannou their takedown defence and bad cardio.
In at era of prime Fedor, Crocop, Arlovski, Sergei, Aleks, etc though I think Stipe would have to go to war much moreso, I can see him picking up wins against those guys but I can also see him getting finished.

Plus all of the fighters you have named from Pride have weaknesses to exploit as well. Alex’s was inconsistent and was always in trouble anyways. Sergei was not very durable and had a lack of ground game, and was bad off of his back. Stipe already has ko’d Arlovski who always had chin issues, so I’m not sure why you mentioned him. Prime Cro Cop got ko’d by a wrestler with rudimentary striking and wouldn’t be as good in a cage. Fedor was also rocked bad by a wrestler in Fujita and cut easily. So I guess Stipe is lucky he fights these softies now like Ngonnou and DC, and not all of those striking machines from Pride with no weaknesses to take advantage of.
Pride had better depth at heavyweight, but was just as top heavy with elite fighters who were well rounded enough to win consistently. Stipe could exploit guys like Coleman and Randleman with his speed and movement on the feet, and could also beat guys like Semmy, Sergei, and Hunt with his wrestling and top game. Stipe would have to fight a perfect game plan to beat a Fedor, and would struggle against Cro Cops speed and striking, and Nogueira’s durability, but I don’t see a lot of other guys from that era that should be favored over Stipe.
Funny that shows up as win on Fedors record and speaking of wins, Stipe has how many exactly in his entire career? Lol
