I saw him swinging and missing a lot, and I saw him visibly starting to slow down. If he can't handle DC's grind I think the outcome will be the same in the rematch.

He seems a little divorced from reality. He says that if he fought Francis it would be the same result and nothing for him to worry about. He did very well moving his head and avoiding most of Francis' power shots, but its obvious to anyone who watches that fight, there was a LOT of danger for Stipe. He barely got out of the way of several bombs and got hit by one that was, I believe harder than the shot Cormier knocked him out with, so he's lucky it just didn't catch him in the right spot. He can beat Francis, but there is plenty there for him to worry about and I think he'd do well to acknowledge it.

I could be wrong but stipe will probably keep his distance and use jabs or longer strikes, however I feel dc will still win, either by catching him and dropping him again for the finish, or will use the wrestling getting a huge td or slam and then followed up by relentless gnp for the win. if stipe keeps the distance eventually dc will rush forward for the td or to get inside and dirty box, I just feel if dc gets a good clean shot again the result will be the same for stipe. For him his only chance of beat dc is by ko/tko.

So he wouldn't have backed out of the clinch with his arm completely down if he saw a punch that came after he did it? that doesn't make any sense.

It seems like Stipe is having a lot of trouble accepting his loss. He says he was doing everything right but he looked a step below DC's speed. That wasn't the first clean punch DC hit him with, he was losing that round pretty soundly. This isn't the talk you want to hear from him coming into a rematch if you're a stipe fan, imo.

DC learned eye pokes from Jones. They're a huge part of the fight. You get at least one freebie, more than one if they miss one. Shit you might get 3 before you even get a firm warning.
