How is it not stone cold? He was #1 guy during the peak years.

He was. But that was only a 4 year run. Hogans was two separate runs with over a decade total. At the end of the day, Hogan helped make wrestling huge and was a major contributor to its rise to its peak with the NWO, Austin was at the peak of wrestling and was the one who helped push it to its peak when I was already making its comeback (which was also part his help). So I’d put Austin at 2. Rock is more famous for movies at this point.

I was never a Hulk fan but he is unquestionably the biggest wrestling superstar of all time.
The look , the music, the crossovers in movie, tv, video games, advertisements...even if people around the world don't know his name, they'll likely know his face, or some knock off version of his image.
