As someone who hasn't seen TLJ and did not like TFA, this is terrifying.

I found The Last Jedi to be a far more entertaining film than The Force Awakens.

I have seen TFA twice and still can't really tell you what happens because it's so fucking dull that I just zone out.

I liked Rogue One a lot more than I thought I would. It's kinda sad when the offshoot is better than the big fancy new trilogy.

My ranking is:

1. The Last Jedi
2. Rogue One
3. TFA

I understand a lot of the complaints that people are making, but I just sat down and allowed the film to take me where it wanted to without questioning every decision and I ended up having a lot of fun with it.

I'm sure part of my reaction, in comparison to other reactions, is that I'm not precious about Luke Skywalker. Frankly, I think that he's perhaps the least interesting major character in the franchise.

Yeah, in the expanded universe (now Legends universe), he did. In the canonical movies he did jack shit and didnt do anything on the level of the force users I mention, except the whole project himself to death thing. But I see that bet, and I raise it with Darth Vader doing this:

And Ahsoka doing this:

All of which is canon.

Luke died to give the rebels a 2 minute head start.

Ok, "jack shit" might be a bit hyperbolic. But still, the point stands.

He bested Vader. That already puts him leagues above Ashoka and Obi Wan. TLJ handled Luke poorly.

But Luke even inside canon is still in the high tier. Slightly below Mace and Yoda but not far behind.

Johnson probably didn't care enough to expand on Luke and give him reconginiton.

No offense homey, and to each their own enjoyments, but my grandfather told me a long time ago never to trust a man with a Hayden Christensen Star Wars AV.

having rewatched the prequels yesterday, I find them all better than TLJ.

TLJ is as much a Star Wars movie as the JJ Abrahams Star Trek movies are Star Trek.

not at all.

Hayden Christensen > Mark Hamill

Your grandfather sounds like a wise man. Shadow has gone on record stating Revenge of the Sith is better than the Empire Strikes Back.

And TLJ fucking sucked.

It blows my mind that the guy who wrote - not directed, but fucking wrote - Regarding Henry, went on to have a career which is known for flashy, soulless popcorn flicks.

It's funny how polarizing Disney has made Star Wars. Everyone seems to have a different ranking for TFA, RO and TLJ.

I found Rogue One dull but in hindsight, I appreciated it being dark and using mostly practical effects. No goofy scenes of riding animals or crystal foxes.

I've only seen each movie once. Once they are out on 4k UHD, I'll watch them several times and hopefully have a good take on them. As of now, I still think TFA is the best of the 3 because it's the safest, treats the characters with respect, has practical effects, has good humor and good pacing. I have my problems with it but it's the one I find the least flawed. That might change when I get a chance to watch all of them again.

He also stands by the Resident Evil movie franchise.

We still love him.

In fact, one could argue he needs us now more than ever.

Jedi and Sith absolutely suck at catching people.

How many scenes throughout the series have we seen where one comes super close to the capture, only to end up standing there watching their quarry escape?

Naw it's close. Non... Caring.. of the plot as it relates to lore.. People.. like kids and some adults.. Think this one is much better. They aren't "stupid."

That's surprising.

I haven't actually spoken to anyone who liked TLJ better.

Also, as good as Poe is as a pilot, there is no doubt he is Force sensitive.

I remember thinking The Doctor was much better. I thought Regarding Henry was incredibly sappy; The Doctor was a lot more realistic, and hit a lot closer to home.
