I would say the difference though is that whilst Luke has some desire to get away from it ultimately he's pretty stay at home when we first meet him, willing to dismiss the Empire as a big far away problem he doesnt have to deal with.I am pretty sure people wanted to get away hard farm work if they could in 1940 also. There were plenty of Leia type characters 30s and 40s mvies. Was not a rarity at all.
And if Vader is redeemed he would be executed. That is what happened to IRL Vaders. The movie never even considers that. Luke is a hero at the and of ANH and ROTJ, pretty much the same guy he just found out who his father is.
You mean 10 mil.
I doubt Luke based on the OT would ever fit into the world of Andor.
It is equally interesting to me personally.
The movie rightly sees that Vaders redemption is in earning a moral sacrificial death not in turning into a good guy.
I'd disagree entirely that Luke didnt change, I think Hamils basic performance between ANH and ROTJ is very different indeed. By the third film he's clearly a much more reserved confident character but also carrying more of a sense of worry to him.
