What a bunch of baloney. Sure things happened to her but she was always the smartest, strongest, most capable, most loved and trusted. And she was never in real danger.

She was so OP she didn't really ever have to train. And she was played by a boring piece of drift wood.

Maybe learn how story telling works?

Yet wasn't the point to show she indeed had them.

What did Rey ever overcome? Did she ever struggle? LoL.

I never saw this giant freaky old alien as a danger in the way you mention it but that first 2 movies Kylo seems like he doesn't take no for an answer.

The real problem with Rey is that KK gave her a trilogies worth of development and training in one film. Only with none of the development and training. All on the name of female empowerment.

Hell, I even think Luke suffered the same fate with three movies. The only Jedi you can say truly had the right amount of training and development were Anakin, Obi, and Ahsoka, but only because they had a TV show to flesh it out.

I realize this doesn’t translate to the tight constraints of films, but still, they could easily explain it away some more by opening up the time lines in the opening scrawls. They did none of that in the ST.

For example, in TLJ, right after Luke tosses the saber, they could have easily faded to a new scene that said....3 or 4 years later. Just that alone would have made her power creep somewhat believable. Not that there’s any saving that PoS movie. At least she’d seem less a Mary Sue.

While forgetting James and Carl’s birthdays while remembering the birthdays of the women who played Star Wars two most hated characters.

What big media company out there isn't guilty of such things ? especially over social media.

It is kinda a silly tweet to make yes. Don't get me wrong on that.

I also say that for 2 movie the Finn character had plenty stuff to do only he got weaker in the third movie.

He was always a supporting character and yea he could have been written better, I don't disagree there yet to act like this is a great crime or tragedy is a little much, side character did great for 2 out of 3 movies.

She lost much worse then a hand.

She didn't lose to Kylo who had been training nearly his whole life... In the first movie, while she had no training and no mentorship.

That's is like an A level athlete dominating MMA without ever training wrestling, striking or BJJ. It doesn't make sense. How the fuck does she know everything?

I see things a tad different with regards to the Kylo vs Rey fights, let me elaborate:

1. First fight she got easily defeated and captured. Kylo chased and froze her and put her to sleep.

2. Second fight had Kylo in a very unfavorable position, badly hurt and in emotional distress fully shaken to the core by the act of killing his father. And in this fight he wasn't trying to kill Rey but recruit her. Kylo didn't want her dead, he just wanted her on his side cause he felt a connection (that was explorer with next movies) but situation escalated and the balance was turned.
If Kylo wasn't hurt/patricide shook and wanted to kill her then no more movie that was it. Not to mention before that he flicked her like a flea in those trees with a force push.

3. Third fight was in the end of TLJ and was a draw no one defeated anyone and was a tug of war version done with force powers.

4. Fourth fight was the force fight in the desert (TRoS) where Kylo was so strong that he kinda made Rey lose control and use the dark side of the force resulting in the force lighting.
I'm going to consider this a win for Kylo he made her lose her way in this one.

5. Fifth fight was the force bond fight they had in the middle of the movie and it was more of a talk and fight, was a draw.

6. Last fight they had was in the wreckage with the waves crashing all around them and guess what both of them able and prepared and Kylo won the fight but didn't give the killing blow because Leia's intervention the last plea to her son.

Did I miss any fight ? feel free to remind me I just did this summary from memory.

Growing up on Jakku, from Luke, Leia and a force prodigy.

I checked out after Palpatine was intro’d in the opening bloody credits of the 3rd one. It undermined everything from the other two for me. What dialog are you talking about? Everyone is stating opinions as they see them, and all you do is tell everyone they’re wrong.

I simply took the time to explain my position clearly. I pointed out stuff how I see it and some of them being facts.

He then proceeded to repeat nothing new while ignoring reality and culminated with a low blow.

That to me is the lack of dialog I talked about. His business, for me it is very easy to just scroll down and avoid any shady characters that I do not want to interact with.

Never said my opinion or Wildo's are the only one. Each opinion is different and it can be a good take or a bad take. I got points I don't agree on with him and sure he has many that are different then mine.

But the guy literately said 'no struggle' and I just pointed out with lots of facts cause it was indeed a struggle. He simply couldn't accept that simple fact and went with moving the goal posts, fine be like that.

And same for @Myrddin Wild I think he knows he can't change your minds but most of his responses are to the core: "hey you are in a SW thread and I think you are wrong and here are the reasons for this, here is is my take" then it turns into an anti SW and anti Wildo tag team that has been happening for years now and yea sometimes he is extra aggressive and yea I do not ever agree with any sort of flame in a Star Wars discussion. Yet he is human and flawed like everyone and I understand that having so many constant pokes, jabs, straight up flame headed in his direction for any of his takes then yea he will get dirty there is no way about it at that point, regrettable but reality.

I appreciate his effort for all this years to never give an inch and always still enter in this type of threads and post his own take, his own opinion for better or worse.
Can't have just a constant circle jerk of hate towards anyone that likes a movie and expresses it here or whatever KK said, whatever Disney did, whatever the social media team did or didn't do, like seriously that wouldn't be an healthy ecosystem at all and will drive anyone neutral or that likes SW stuff out of the threads asap and will result in just an all out hate Disney Star Wars thread.

It's not necessary to agree about everything, but we keep our communication civil & Brother ONE can lay down the law... he's done it with me, but then we get back to constructive & positive communication regardless of whether or not we agree.

That's what this thread is missing from the resistance side. You resistance folk just try to over-power anyone who likes the movies so that you can own this thread & paste your hater videoz & spew your hate FOR SPORT daily about sw's without any interference from people who would actually appreciate a thread discussing SW's that isn't over-run with such things.

I actually enjoy people with different pov's because it gives me an excuse to dive into SW's lore & study something of particular interest. I love tearing apart a subject of interest & putting it under a microscope because I'm learning at the same time about tidbits I might not have known otherwise. So lets do those kinds of conversations in here. Lets just discuss it all & not avoid saying 'hey good point... I never thought about that..." or whatever. I say stuff like that all the time.

Oh I'm not saint trust me, I can be a prick easy peasy, I can be extra mean too but for me is just the fact that I come to the Mayberry mostly for light hearted talks.

So when I get a notification from Dragon and I enter in a thread about a movie / tv show related topic I know I'm in a place where ideally it should be chill and I try my best to always be zen about it no matter what.
By now people should know we have sections in the forum like the War Room or OT that are the suitable places for people wanting to get their frustration out and be mean to each other all they want.

I have no ill wishes towards that guy with the personal low attack, I have never reported or blocked someone for something they did or said to me and I won't start now, like I said I just use the scroll down past folks that I do not vibe with their posts and have no interest in interacting with.

Yes @Myrddin Wild we have friends on here that are big Star Wars fans but that are very reluctant to join a conversation and share their opinions and likes and dislikes and any cool SW stuff they are into just simply because they think this place is a toxic environment for Star Wars fandom and simply do not wish the hassle.

We had chats like hey look a simple positive post directed at no one in fact just a simple statement saying you like this movie or this character and just wait 24 hours and see the responses and quotes that I got.. not one was positive.
So yea I understand their position on the matter and respect their choice. I also think it is important to not let this place fully turn sour.. and so from time to time I check out a SW related topic give a like here and there and maybe drop a post inside. We need some sort of balance.
