yeah, i get your point. maybe it is jsut strange to see a blue uniform as part of the bridge crew as science officer in some series but not others.
Yeah the later series mainly made blue shirts medical personnel. Most of the crew are blue and yellow shirts.

Yellow Alert: Sheilds on
Red Alert: Shields and weapons on

The alerts also shift crew responsibilities, and can reassign ship priorities. It will prioritize power allocation(shift power to weapons and shields)

That's what I figured. So then why have there been several instances of people calling for shield or weapons after it's already Red Alert?

*Red Alert is currently activated*

...several seconds pass, then something happens...

Riker: "Raise Shields"

Or, *Red Alert already active*

Janeway: "Bring Phasers online."

It makes no sense.

Yeah, but I've seen episodes where shields are raised without Red Alert happening. I don't know the series well enough to tag the episodes, but I distinctly recall several times where Picard ordered the shields raised and the ship didn't even go to Yellow Alert.

I would assume that it is possible under certain circumstances.

In reality, it probably only happens to notify casual viewers that..the shields are up and Riker has a talking role

Just pre-ordered. A leap of faith.
Wouldn't shock me if he got a writer spot on the show next season. I just watched his DS9 episode the other day. Imagine if they made the Destiny series a 10 hour mini series.....

My brother in law made a crib mobile for my 2 month old boy. I need to take a picture, it's awesome. It includes stars, a felt Enterprise and a Romulan warbird.

I just ordered a rotating crib mobile hanger with SD card slot and found this on YouTube:

whats the biggest military class vessle for each race?

Is the carrier class still the biggest?

Star Fleet isn't technically a military group so most of its ships are not dedicated towards those roles. The biggest ships are like a Galaxy class were built for extended exploration. The Sovereign Class is probably the most powerful war ship. There are a few attack carrier types built to fight the Borg and Dominion, like the Akira class.

Here's a gif of both ships

TNG had the GOAT crew, am I right? I've always wondered what they would have done had they been the ones thrown into the Delta Quadrant, instead of Voyager.

How does the Enterprise-D do out there?

The Enterprise-E?

Does Picard blow up the Caretaker machine thing? Or does he use it to get back?

Picard would definitely take just as long to get back home as Janeway. Assuming he even wanted to return home. It's very likely he'd be so excited to explore he would go in the other direction. And the rest of his crew would almost be happy with it.

Sisko would be back in time for dinner.

They don't go into smaller ships much, because the shows usually just follow the main ship. Ships usually carry 5-20 low warp shuttle craft,1-5 Run a about larger mid warp ships, and the larger ships may also have a number of fighter ships, like the peregrine class fighters. You don't really see the wide scale space battles, other than DS9 and the Dominion war. It was just way to expensive to do back in the day. Hopefully the new series will have some epic space battles.

I'd be administrative support cuz I don't want to get shot by a disruptor, hacked by a b'thlet, or assimilated. Keep my ass in a cushy chair on space dock with a holodeck nearby installed with a Gemini slave girl program and a replicator throwing out bacon 24/7.

I am starting to get angry at CBS and those responsible for Discovery. They gotta give us something. Like someone on Twitter wrote, give us the ship or the cast or a damn uniform hem, something.

Just based on how bad they have handled the 50th anniversary, has me worried. A executive at CBS today gave a interview on how they are putting Star Trek online, because no sci fi show can be successful on TV anymore.....

Been watching TNG and something funny I noticed is that although Worf is supposed to be this big badass Klingon Warrior, he's constantly getting his ass handed to him. Literally, it seems like almost every single physical encounter he's been involved in he loses. WTF?! Granted, I'm only on Season 2, but it's still rather strange. I thought he was much more formidable than they've shown him to be (thus far).
