thanks. not sure if I should be ashamed or proud I asked the same question as Stern. So what is she? My wife thinks she is east indian with a little black in her.

I think she's a model who had big lips and then regrettably got them injected with fat.

So now she has "resting duck face" which I personally find distracting, and that's sad considering that I think she's playing up a pure Vulcan fantastically.

she is certainly playing a vulcan differently than tuvac, who I assume was more used to humans

I am fine with 'resting duck face'.

So 10/31 (the date that equals the Discovery's registration number) seems to come and go without any news.

I'd honestly rather it took place after the events of Deep Space Nine/Voyager.

Knowing where everything ends up kind of takes the fun out of it.

This was my original feeling, too. But now I am just hoping for a series that is done well, oozes the Trek feeling , honors canon and is successful. That is the only way we one day can get another series, probably then post-Nemesis.

Yeah going post Nemesis, really would allow them to create there own version of trek. Unless they are totally going to crap on canon, Discovery will have some limitations. There are events that happen in that time period that are never covered. There are species like the Tzenkethi who had a war with the Federation and control major areas of the Beta Quadrant, but are never seen on TV.

For a Post-Nemesis series they really need to tap Jonathan Frakes to be a driving creative force behind it. Maybe Executive Producer. Certainly, and at the very least, a reoccurring director. As is, my excitement for "Discovery" is basically nil.

Frakes isn't really a writer though. He is a highly regarded director, and is known to run a tight ship production wise.
I would watch a new series based on him and the USS Titian.

But I mean if he had partial creative control over a writers room for a post-Nemesis series, that would be amazing. I've heard of what a great director is. It's a shame he didn't direct Nemesis. But either way, I'm sure he's got a lot of good ideas he could have the writers room flesh out. I would trust him a hell of a lot more than the current production crew.

i always enjoy the frakes directed episodes

Rewatching early DS9 right now.
Dukat is a master villain.

Love it when he goes full retard, turns freedom fighter then allies with the Dominion and rains down hell on the klingons lol.

Still on 1st season of Enterprise for the first time, and lol at that fat vulcan in episode 17!

Not sure why I found it so .... stimulating when the ferengi is pawing an unconscious t'pol.

Strong indication we will be seeing lots of Klingons imo.

I would love for Frakes to be involved in the new series. I'm sure he will be directing a few episodes.

I so much want DS9 in HD. But will probably never happen.

Yeah, they really went all out on the TNG blu rays, and the result was stunning. They spent a ton of money on it though, and they asked way too much when they were first released at $70 each season. Everyone should buy the boxset now for under $100. If they sell enough blu rays they will do it.
