Squatting 405: One year for 4 plates

That's where I disagree with you. It was very, very clearly high. It's not even close, nor is it questionable. It doesn't help him to say as much.

Who the hell cares? He might, since he's doing a meet in April. That's not too far off. So, while this isn't a competition, it does matter.

Correction: scott 'hoss' cartwright, that are high squats still white lighted.
Yes, of course it does matter, and (for a second time), he already got told to work on his depth numerous times.

As far as I know, none of the people who posted here are competitive lifters or judges (as oyaji poi said, who are you? And a weakness is not a strength thing?), somebody like Keo, toonie, tosa, etc should look at it, as this is obviously a debateble case.

(cincy, you should reach out to the active powerlifters here regardless, they can give you some help with preparation, if you ask them nicely.)

Edit: cratos?

I can't see he vid. But I'm guessing by those who think its high, it was high. If I'm competing I'm makng sure there is no question about where my squat goes. Its the last thing I want to worry about when I'm on that platform.

Also, it really shouldn't matter ho Jim is. The advice was pretty sound.

Good point.

I'm usually in that camp, too, and the depth is not clearly legal.
This seems to cause quite a debate, so I am going to say it is not correct to declare it adequate. Neither would it be helpful to cincy's preparation. I'm not experienced enough to make that call, so he should redo it when it suits him.

Just let me know what I have to do to qualify for that list of lifters so I can join the debate...

I'm just a white belt but I thought it was obvious that cincy's squat was high. Not "quarter squat GTFO of my squat rack" high but still high.

Also JimRussel, you should totally be called JimRustle or would that be too obvious?

I have said many times that I suck at judging squat depth. I ended up getting so confused I had to stop even trying to go just below parallel because I had no idea.

I paused his video and thought the hip crease was exactly in line with the top of the knee... but I would not be in the slightest bit surprised if I was wrong. On the other hand, if a notorious depth-Nazi said a squat that some better judges than I said was okay, i would not automatically side with the depth Nazi either.
