Too much worrying about cortisol. It's catabolic, but the breakdown of muscle tissue is part of the process of building new, bigger, stronger tissue. As long as it's balanced with enough anabolic stimulus, cortisol isn' bad and serves a necessary function thing.

Haven't posted my lifts lately, but I hit 365 for 3 reps last Saturday. It felt pretty good. I may take a crack at 405 this Saturday.

I updated the list in the second post, hope I didn't miss anyone.
I prefer lifting in the morning, sets a nice tone for the day and gyms tend to be less crowded. Getting ready has never been a problem after getting used to the rythm.

@Chili: Good luck, mate

I guess you can add mine at 370. I'm also interested in knowing everyone's starting and ending bodyweight. I am currently cutting(174) so if I am still able to progress I will probably be around 165 if I am able to keep progressing.

I'd like to get in on this, I'm at 285x5 now. Haven't attempted a 1rm recently.

Back when I was young and dumb I did 405 for a total of 12 reps. I weighed around 180 at the time. I don't squat heavy anymore.

Back when I was young and dumb I squatted 405 for 13 reps and scored 4 touchdowns in one game. And then threw a football over them mountains.

Am I doing this right?

Not sure why but I am on the list twice. The 370 one is the correct one.

I'm stalling at 285-290 3x5 and have developed some minor discomfort in my right knee I'm pretty sure is somehow from squatting. Gives mild pain when extending to leg from a decent depth like climbing stairs or getting up from a chair if I focus on using a motion that pushes the quad.

I really hope I'm not sputtering out here. Gonna take a week off squats and then see with a warm up. I was hoping to get to 315 3x5 fine without having to get creative to advance, but everything past 265 has been a grind

Low or high bar ? Do you do hamstring work often ?

Where about on the right knee? Do you have video where your knee tracking is visible?

I've been lifting for almost 5 years and never maxed out any lifts until recently (3 weeks ago). Squatted 315 clean yesterday. feelsgoodman.jpg. I'm about to start cutting for summer so I'm not going to approach 405 this year but I wanted to drop a line in here and let the sherbros know where I'm at. I was able to get 325 with a little help from a spot after failing on it once, so we'll just go with 315.

Little more info, I'm 6" 184lbs (as of this morning) and my bench PR is 295lbs and deadlift is 365lbs

Just keep your protein up when cutting you can still improve on your lifts. I am currently cutting from 205(at about 174 or so now) and have kept a lot of my strength and have actually improved my squat since starting the cut. For me I see the biggest drops in upper body strength when cutting.

Oh damn, don't say that. I'm moving from 265 5x5 to 270 5x5 this coming Sunday, haha...

I do very little heavy lifting while cutting and spend a lot of time on my road bike. I'm nowhere near as bulky as you must be when you start cutting (no offense intended). I got down to 172 last summer and I was probably ~8% bf there. I was up to 195 a couple weeks ago before a stomach bug wiped me out and I was still probably only 13-15% bf at that point. I stay very lean. I'd like to get to 200-205ish next winter before I cut but if I get up that high, 175lbs would mean a bf <5% after cutting.
