Someone else would have gotten ridiculous praise for this - Nobody has done this to Usman

It was a good display of grappling, unless cage weights come out and he was 20 pounds heavier lol, but short notice moving up welterweight usman outstruck him. He may have broken his wrist but he barely threw anything, didn’t target the knees of usman, was clearly gassed, bad stand up display, should have been a 28-28 draw

So since Usman walks around at 200ish, you say Khamzat cut down from 220? He has fought at 170 for what, 10 times while Usman is massive WW too.

Also you only have so much time to rehydrate, they were probably within 5lbs. You are just a hater

Chimaev is a monster grappler. His cardio is suspect and his striking defense is poor.

but yeah, no one can question the man’s grappling. When fresh, he’s probably the best MMA grappler on planet Earth.

Also, he stayed in there and eked out 2 rounds with a broken wrist. So he also has heart and toughness.

If he truly has a broken hand/wrist like a fracture, we will see the return of inactive Khamzat again, and there is nothing worse than that. 6 months until his next fight, probably April 2024 at earliest.

He didn’t look gassed to me. Just wasn’t offensive after injuring his hand. Some fighters adjust to it and other don’t. Maybe you can knock him for not jabbing or throwing kicks. But the cardio seemed fine. He wasn’t even out of breath.

Indeed, nobody ever fought Usman at the MW division, with an extremely short notice and when he's ageing and declining <seedat>

That being said, Khamzat is a very good fighter, simply not as great as his absurd hype.

Also, i'm almost certain Khamzat would have badly lost in the reverse situation : him taking the short notice, while Usman had a full training camp.

No they wouldn’t, nobody in the top 10 at MW would get promised a title shot for beating Usman in his first fight at MW, it would be largely expected.

Put it this way, can anybody remember people talking about Usman as a player at MW 2 weeks ago.

Everyone wants to bring up Usman's knees but he moved pretty good in there. I've seen guys fight injured and look really bad. I was impressed when he was able to stuff Khamzat.

I remember the narrative was Khanzat would get no takedowns and that Usman was the much better wrestler

Goal posts shift every single fight its hilarious. Even the cardio shit comes back. Usman is a cardio king and Khamzat got the decision. Khamzat's output increased every round while throwing haymakers in Burns fight. Yet idiots are saying he's a 1 round fighter.

They're saying it now when he didn't even look gassed at all in there after 3 rounds with Usman.

I mean I saw he was taking the 2nd round off, looked like he was waiting for Usman to get aggressive to win the next round so he could counter, but now hearing he probably broke/fractured his wrist probably makes sense for the difference. If it was a fighter people liked they would be calling him legendary for pulling it off with an injury.

I apologize

Was having a day yesterday and not choosing words / arguments very well.
It’s all good my dude. We all have those moments or days. Hope your future days and nights get better. Im always up for a fun debate about mma whenever you’re interested. You’re the man, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Not sure about best grappler in MMA but I think he s the best wrestler in UfC.

Usman was only 188 when he fought welterweight. He always stays fit year round

had to drop "asian driver" in there huh?
I could have said, “a bad driver with poor situational awareness that didnt look where she was going and had no depth perception to make the move she attempted,” but that is virtually identical to “Asian Driver.” I guess could have added “Female” for accuracy. Lol

No one else fought 10 days notice Usman.

Leon took him down, took his back and sparked him out

If Khamzat wasn't such a front runner he would be getting praise. But he faded badly and was getting pieced up by a wrestler moving up in weight

Diaz beat Conor on 2 weeks notice, Bisping beat Rockhold etc. Usman was preparing for a fight in December. Nothing at all showed me that even with a full camp Usman could deal with the wrestling. He was ragdolled
Conor sucks, Bisping is a once ever type of thing. You say all of that but people are debating the decision. It was not a unanimous win

Usman survived and arguably won thats more impressive
