So what happened with the Wall?

How is that relevant? We are talking about a wall to keep out illegal immigration, drugs and crime from Mexico, Israel put up a wall to keep out illegal immigration and terrorism, and it seemed to work very well.

Israel has a military fortification that is manned by soldiers, and it's not even 1/4 the length of our southern border.

It's also mostly near or in urban areas, so logistics for construction and maintenance is much easier.

Our number of representatives are calculated using the census data. The census counts all people including illegal immigrants. Thus illegal immigrants directly effect representation
So you are saying that there are so many illegal immigrants in one area that they have garnered an extra representative that is voting on what the illegals tell them too?
Got It!
Ok, so you have a source right?
I'll wait because this is ground breaking. Please hurry I am on the edge of my seat!

Which part of what I said are you having trouble with? It's pretty straight forward

@MMAViewer "Most Americans know that their representation in the U.S. House of Representatives is based on proportional representation as determined by the decennial Census. And, many Americans are aware that the Census takers try to count everybody residing in the country. But, most Americans do not make the connection that illegal immigrants and other foreigners who are not legal permanent residents are part of the calculation for the apportionment of Congressional representatives. If the population of illegal aliens and other long-term foreign residents were inconsequential, this would not be an important issue. However, with 18.5 million more persons counted in the 2000 Census than the number of U.S. citizens, this is a valid major concern."

Then maybe we should have tougher punishments for hiring illegal workers?

This just never seems to get legs among the wall-building Trump cultists. They will pay passing lip service to it when it's brought up - "Sure. We should do that too." But it doesn't evoke anything close to the passion that the ridiculously costly construction of the wall does.

And financially punishing companies who hire illegals would actual generate some revenue.

Imagine if Trump was a legit populist and had actually run on a promise to fine US employers who hire illegals and then put that money directly into the coffers of, for example, the unemployment insurance program.

Source?

Jeeze how many times do we have to say this. Citizens would rather go after the foreign illegal rather then a fellow citizen.

And google how many illegal guns come in, not good

Or maybe we could use the money from fining employers to put toward more elaborate border defenses?

Why would a theoretically added representative feel bound to advance the cause of a group that was legally unable to cast a vote for them?

Or is this where we get into the part about illegal immigrants turning out in droves to vote using Soros-funded fake ID's?

Wow.

1. You really don't understand how going after the American companies that knowingly hire illegal workers is the cheapest, easiest and most effective way to prevent the problems associated with illegal immigration, do you? If illegal immigration hurts job growth ITS BECAUSE AMERICANS ACTIVELY HIRE THEM AND EMPLOY THEM OVER OTHER AMERICANS. If jobs and wages are such a big deal to you then you should be considering companies willingly hiring illegals over citizens as borderline traitors.

2. LOL you made the claim about guns. YOU have to back up YOUR claim with YOUR sources. You don't write a college paper and tell your professor to google your sources cited.

You have truly earned this:

Fairus.org is a fucking joke and anyone with a brain knows their agenda and they have proven they are partisan hacks who manipulate data blatantly. You are a joke for posting anything they publish as a source.

To be fair he was a joke long before using them as a source. Just go see his posts in the Roy Moore threads.

The value of the wall--why it was "good politics" (i.e., effective at exciting rubes in his support) to mention it--is symbolic. This is how it has always worked. See Dylan's take from more than half a century ago. Frustrated, lower-class whites get symbolic victories and donors get material rewards.

Or is this where we get into the part about illegal immigrants turning out in droves to vote using Soros-funded fake ID's?

@oleDirtyBast4rd doesn't think for himself. He's repeating what some smarter right-wingers who are embarrassed about the stupidity of Trump's claim about unauthorized immigrants voting have said to try to salvage some respectability while still defending President Manbaby.

This is absolutely correct. I was actually talking to a local guy (passionate Trump voter) a couple weeks ago about his feelings on Trump and what he had and had not accomplished thus far.

When building the wall came up the guy said, in essence, "Whether or not the wall gets built isn't what's important. What's important is that Trump had the guts to say what no one else would!"

I never said they are beholden to whatever illegals want. I mentioned that they directly impact representation which is true. You don't see any problem with that?

Can you point out where I am wrong mr Hack?

Doesn't an additional representative just give your side an opportunity to win another seat?

Can you point out where they were wrong with the info? I can find another source but something tells me it would be a waste of my time and you'd just dismiss it as well
