My wife's aunt worked in payroll. No one was fired, no one was charged with anything. The place is still operating, and still hiring illegals so appearently whatever fines they faced weren't stiff enough.

Hiring one illegal person who tricked you isn't enough to punish a company. But there's no way to claim innocence when you hired 60 plus illegal workers. How a business is allowed to operate still after that is crazy.

Why would a brand new seat need to be added? You do realize the states divide up the total represntatives by population right?

Arizona in 2000 had 8, and in 2010 had 9

Texas in 2000 had 34 and in 2010 had 36

The real issue is people freaking out about demographic changes to the country and feeling that maybe they're on the outside and not liking that (essentially the same concern "SJWs" have, but in reverse--both worried about "otherization" but one from the perspective of declining hegemony and the other from the perspective of currently being otherized). I actually agree with nationalism for this reason, but what's called "nationalism" is anti-American, trans-national ethno-nationalism. We should have English as a national language and make more of an effort to promote "American" as an identity. I've linked to this before, but I'll do it again because I think it's exactly right:
