So this is heavyweight Jon Jones

1) We just saw Gane win a title by controlling distance and picking his shots while remaining patient ...a Game plan jones has done many times..its actually his M.O to be controlling and use his high fight iq

2)HIS BODY DOESNT TRANSLATE?? WTF ..the haters have been saying for years Jones is a HW hiding at LHW now his body doesnt translate...he has the same overall frame as Ngannou..height and reach wise... The guy whos currently champion..

3)Afraid to lose?...u mean like every fighter especially HWs?...did u forget Ngannou starring at Lewis for an entire fight... Lmfao these r too good...

4)wrestling is shot, based on what exactly? He beat reyes hes last opponent with wrestling...took D.C down...and took down and GNP Gus Into non relevancy

5)Chin is untested at HW... semi fair point...however has Jones actually been rocked ever? ...i dont remember any stacky legging like.ngannou did against stipe from jones...and he faced some hard hitters like rampage..

6)no power....?...he has stoppages on his record at 205... including a head kick of D.C... and somehow at 245lbs he doesn't have power?..if theres one thing HWs have its power...they all have it..

7) past prime- this may be true for 205 possibly ... But HWs age differently...HW has always had the oldest running fighters...hes still young and prime for HW...

8) Not sure how this factors in... U really didnt think these through...he could be juicey most suspect he is still... Hes passed all 10 of his tests this year so far but that could be wrong...either way not sure how this explains he loses.

Try harder ...
I can see by your response that you are a fan boy and either don't understand the difference between HW and all the other classes, or choose to ignore them. Let me elaborate on my list so you may see the light.

1. His game doesn't translate to HW.

Heavyweight is different from the other weight classes. There are two prerequisites for being successful. Chin and Power. Chin, because you often have to take a shot to deliver your own. Sooner or later everyone gets hit clean and Jones will be no different. He has shown good recovery at LHW but again, HW is a different world. We don't know what would happen if the big boys crack him. Power, because at Heavyweight you HAVE to have a deterrent, you have to make your opponent think twice about walking through you. That's why two big punchers like BB and Ngannou will circle each other continuously in an uneventful fight. If Jon can't deter anyone from walking through his pitter patter, he will either be on the run for the entire fight or KOd. Neither amounts to a win. Jon's game at LHW is reliant on a length and reach advantage, and maintaining distance so he can control where the fight goes and how it happens. If he sees an opening, he will jump in and deliver his spinning elbow or whatever but usually he is just sitting around with distance-controlling kicks waiting for that opening. That will not work at HW. It just won't. His length and reach advantage are gone and nothing in his arsenal to-date is going to give any opponent pause-they know he can't hurt them. Why is Ngannou frothing at the mouth to fight him? It's because he knows he could steamroll him, and Jon knows this too. Also, when you're fighting the big guys, you're not going to land that DC head kick KO. The kick he landed on DC was about 4 1/2 feet off the ground, awkward, not powerful, and DC ducked into it with all his might. That's not going to happen against guys who are 6-6.

2. His body doesn't translate HW.

I don't know if this needs a lot of explanation if you've seen any of his recent 'training'. He just looks all wrong. He's fat, slow and lumbering which would be fine for a slugger but he needs mobility (and a gas tank) to implement his game. Putting on sloppy weight (mostly in his mid-section) might benefit his grappling at the heavier weight but it would detract from everything else.

3. His psychological outlook doesn't translate to HW (afraid to lose)

HW is a kill or be killed division. He just doesn't have that mindset like Hunt, JDS, Nelson, Rothwell, Overeem, and so many others have. He is so risk-averse that he would never do well there unless he changed his fighting philosophy.

4. Wrestling is shot

Didn't try to take down and finish Santos who was dead in the water and couldn't take and keep down Reyes--the football player. Couldn't finish Anthony Smith who was not game in any way and hugely out-classed. The last time it was a factor was Gus 2, but Gus had an injury it turned out, and not exactly in his prime anymore. Before that, he looked great against DC, but of course, he tested positive for PEDs and Steroids before and after those fights.

5. Chin is untested at HW

Self-explanatory

6. No power (no deterrent)-- whether you like it or not.

Covered in #1

7. Past prime

Objectively he is beyond his fighting prime. 10 good fighting years is normal and he is beyond that. His last several fights speak for themselves.

8. No roids

Next time he pops it's a lifetime ban. He's just not going to risk that. It would completely devastate his legacy which he is so proud of. It's pretty easy to see he is not on the good stuff. If he was, he would probably still be a beast--which he's not at this point.

9. Watch his actions, not his words. Jon Jones knows better than anyone how well he would do at HW and STILL no fight on the horizon, although many excuses. That should tell you everything you need to know. (Of course I'm not going to track you down in a year or two but when you think back on how Jones retired without even one Heavyweight fight--you'll say to yourself, "Damn, Herb was right again!"

Dude's washed up. Been proven he's nothing without PEDs.
Not even close to being in the GOAT conversation.

why do you dislike Ngannou? he is humble
-Very very public complaining, bitching, and moaning on social media because 6-7 figures isn’t enough for him. He wants 9. He thinks he deserves 100 million. Is very apparent that he doesn’t really wanna be here. He wants to box fury/wilder winner
- becoming very well established that he’s a huge pain in the ass to deal with at those negotiation meetings.
- shit talked n betrayed the man who rescued him from homelessness
- I will always root against size bullies. He’s winning with size more than with skill. Transfer his brain/fight iq into a flyweight body and he wouldn’t even be good enough to get into Bellator or PFL

understandable

link to sh!t talk and betrayed who rescued him from homelessness? he isnt a total bad guy he donates so much to charity, and goes back all the time to his homeland.

He isnt that much of a size bully as much as an athletic, his explosiveness, and strength, his speed is the great help. Lesnar was more of a size bully just see Lesnar vs Mir 2,

Yeah he is a public complainer I am not a fan of fighter pay being raised. Also he does seem he wants to only defend a few times at most then leave for freak show fights or try boxing. He already has a foot out the door this will be his downfall

7. Past prime
8. No roids

That's 8 reasons off the top of my head

counter to those 8 reasons:

1. A tactical striker that fights on outside with good wrestling. That translates very well
2. Really dude? Jons 6”4 with 84 in reach lol
3. jones is a psycho and has shown over several fights that hes mentally strong.
4. His wrestling is still good
5. You could say that about anyone moving up
6. Jones can point fight and hes good at it too
7. I guess but even a past prime Jones is a problem. Especially with slower Heavyweights
8. Very Debatable(lol)

I'm aware that Jones is a PED cheat. I've fought that fight for years on these forums.

A. It was irrelevant to what we were discussing, as is speculation that he is ducking any other fighter.
B. I mean really, what is this about: "How does that at some point just not make it into your post?" Are you trolling me? I'm not outraged that you are outraged, but I find it outrageous that you are outraged by my apparent failure to share your outrage.
HA, post of the week right here. Hilarious!

Jon is way past is prime and he's having a lot of trouble coping with it.

He'd get murdered going against the top HW's Gane/Ngannou
It usually takes fighters several humiliating losses before they can admit to themselves that they don’t have it anymore.. Jon technically hasn’t lost yet so it’s understandable why he doesn’t realize that he’s past his best.

I thought this guy did:

But hes on a theoretical 2 fight losing streak against overrated slumping opponents who are 1 loss away from maybe being cut. 1 of them was against a 1 legged middleweight.

His wrestling has absolutely gone down the tubes. He couldn’t take either of them down for shit. How does he think he’s gonna take down heavyweights when he can’t take down bloated 1 legged middleweights? His performances had been extremely lackluster from the instant his picos wore off.
