Television So PISSED at the Cobra Kai ending!!!!

Worrying what other people think about your taste on tv shows is for pussies.
Worrying about the failing state of humanity is for people not enamored with mind-numbing, useless theatre.

Ill let you figure out what group you fall in, Bad Attitude.

They did KSY dirty but we should have seen that coming since all we know about him is that he's an asshole.

The Kreese and Silver ending was perfect. Both guys were pretty much irredeemable so ending each other when they're both old AF and ready to step down anyway was good. At least Kreese made peace with Johnny and handed over the keys to Cobra Kai which is what needed to happen.

Sam retires from fighting because she's gotten too fat. Yeesh I guess it kind of works. I still can't understand how the actress didn't even pretend to get in shape for the role after season 2.

The guy they really did dirty was Axel. He's just a well-meaning kid who's been manipulated his whole life by his asshole sensei. He could have been world champ but refuses to sweep the leg against Miguel because he has feelings for Sam. So he loses fair and square, takes it in stride, gets the Kreese-Johnny parking lot treatment from his sensei, and then just walks away and we don't see him again. They should have shown him walking up to Cobra Kai/Miyagi Do at the end looking for Sam/seeking a proper sensei so we know he didn't just blow himself up on a boat somewhere.

Johnny got the redemption arc he needed and Daniel coaching him off the mat was pretty great. "What dojo are you fighting for? Does defeat exist in that dojo? Now stop acting like a little pussy and go beat the living shit out of this asshole" was spot on perfect. The only thing that would have made it better is if Johnny had actual history or beef with sensei Wolf. We don't really know anything about him other than he's a dick and he ate the last two pieces of steak at the hotel in Barcelona. I guess that kind of makes it more hilarious which could be what they were going for.

He might seem like an a hole but consider his upbringing+ he made the same healing potion for his granddaughter which was the same as Mr. Miyagi did for Daniel when Terry made his knuckles bleed.

While he did that, he spoke softly to his granddaughter about not focusing on the past. He showed a gentle side and when Kreese came to talk to him privately he let Kreese know that his granddaughter will be included in the conversation.

Also we never saw his bad ass dark scroll 📜 in action. Miyagi has a,secret 📜 as well...

Fun fact about Master Kim Sung Yung, that move is used by Ogata isshinsai who i named My username in his honor.

Terry Silver ending PISSED ME OFF!!!

When he came to Lapusso household to talk to him and Johnny, he opened up about his illness. I really thought that he truly just wanted a one last karate hurrah. But they literally turned him in to an evil mob boss trying to get Dennis to kidnap Carmen and the baby like WTF!?

Even Silver mentioned his ridiculous behavior during karate kid 3 and this was uncharacteristically way too evil Even for Terry. Made no sense.

I thought ending would= Kreese and Silver having an honorable duel, fight it out and kind of salvage their old friendship remembering how they used to spar when they trained with master Kim sun Yung dojang.

Lol agree Silver trying to kidnap Carmen and the baby was out there and WTF. I assume Silver was doing coke again and possibly other shit + the prescription drugs he was taking and that turned him manic again like in KK3.

But in the interest of wrapping up everyone's story arc, they needed to make the existing villains irredeemable so they could be written out organically. This show was about the old generation handing over the reins to the next. Miyagi already bit the dust so Kreese, Silver and KSY also had to go. If he survived and was redeemed, KSY would have stolen Johnny and Da Eun's thunder. We knew Da Eun wasn't going to ride side car forever and it was also obvious she and Chozen were going to be a thing. You can't just have KSY standing over them demanding that Chozen eat with a fork instead of chopsticks. So what to do? Have KSY commit some more irredeemable shit like having kids beaten for no good reason and ordering his granddaughter to murder the dude who ingratiated himself to her as a kid. And what did Kreese do to deserve this fate after faithfully serving KSY for decades? Getting fed up with his shit and trying to walk away. Yeah that pretty much makes KSY an irredeemable douche in need of a five finger exploding heart technique to the nards.

And yeah, Silver wanting to kidnap the baby came out of left field but it also made him irredeemable. And with all the shit he'd done, no way was Kreese going to sail off into the sunset either. The theme with KSY, Kreese and Silver was they started out as good guys but got twisted by ego and anger and became gigantic assholes.

So I saw this thread title and rushed to binge the last episodes before I accidentally saw any spoilers.

I kept waiting for the ending to suck, but it didn't. I thought it was a solid ending, bringing us back to the whole reason we loved this show in the first place.

I'm not upset about kreese and silver's ending. It was fitting for both of them. Kreese's apology tour was very well-written as well.

Not sure what you expected from KSW. He's like a hundred years old and still kicked his grand daughter's ass. I loved the fact that when she killed him his last words were complimenting her on her technique. Even though he was evil, he was a teacher at his core. He brought out greatness in her. Reminded me of JK Simmons in that movie whiplash.

And maybe I missed it but they never resolved why miyagi fought in the sekai Taikai, right?

They explained why he was accused of theft and all that, but him killing a guy in the tournament was never really explored any further. Daniel's dream just told him to accept it.

Seriously was such a bullshit what they did to Terry Silver and Master Kim Sun Yung!!!!!!

Also we never got to see Master Kim's special technique be employed!!!

The Writing was getting thin and personally it was unbalanced after season 2 where you had to balance the seriousness and comedy of the shows premiere. I would have done a far better job with the writing but the fact is they didn’t plan on it being a huge success so they extended the series and they rushed it and catered to the less intelligent ppl who don’t even know karate or it’s base ……so they balanced it and did a good job but it got dumbed down as it went ……

.I’m glad it ended bc it wasn’t getting better you need to write much better stories and plots otherwise it’s just another Beverly Hills 90210 but they know karate .

Definitely went downhill the last couple of seasons but not to the point where it ruined the show. But comparing season one to season six would be like comparing Karate Kid to Karate Kid III in how absurd and eye rolling it got at times.

First season i understood the appeal through the nostalgia trip. Second season it was a straight up tween show. Like those who continued watching The Walking Dead after season two i question their intelligence.
