So are we all just pretending Jones's impossible T/E levels didn't happen now?

I'd be interested to see how his next blood work turns out (at the time of his next fight). Very different ratios? I'm sure he'll be very careful now that he is getting extra attention. Will we see a difference in performance/cardio/muscle mass versus Gus/AJ?

Anyone ever hear if he truly tried to pull a Wanderlei when they came for random testing? Only the people at that gym know for sure what the story is.

Think about it.

If these levels were normal for him, then why would it just start being a big deal after this fight? There would've been news on it after EVERY fight he's had in the UFC.

Jones nuthugger checking in, he got away with murder probably but he got away and that's what's important.

Lol Jones with a .19 lowest and DC was .4. Thats half the levels of DC while he's 10 years younger, both the same race too. Only Jones nuthuggers can't admit theres something wrong with that. Wondering why DC's was low but he was no where near as low as Bones and hes freaking 37 lol.
can you confirm that 0.19 is actually half the levels of 0.4, or are you just presuming that it's simply a matter of dividing by 2?

Respect. Atleast you can see whats going on. Not the case with 99.9% of all the other Jones fans though.

its not just that they were low, its that they fluctuated over 30%, which many say anything over 30% is a clear sign of PED use.

on december 4th jones levels were .29/1

on december 18th they were .19/1

T/e levels are supposed to remain quite stable throughout long periods of time. That's why they're used to test for PEDs--b/c both introduction and withdrawal of testosterone makes the t/e ratio fluctuate. That Jones experienced 34% fluctuation in two weeks raises eyebrows, not to mention the abnormally low ratios.

Exactly, if he had low testosterone-production we would have heard about this much earlier in his career.

I'm still highly suspicious of them apparently not doing the CIR until the end of last week.
It's entirely possible Jones never did a damn thing wrong. But the NSAC has bumbled this from the beginning, starting with giving him the damn test for rec drugs in the first place. Then his hormones were unusual and they didn't follow up until public outcry. THEN it comes out that the secondary test administered on the initial, abnormal results wasn't done until what was likely AFTER the timeframe for the test to be reliable.

It sounds like they fucked up from the beginning and are trying to cover their asses.

Yep.

Its so fucking obvious and his fans (somehow he has fans) are just covering for him. There's no way someone can actually think its nothing.

yes it got completely swept under the rug.

the one everyone fell for is "if jones took synthetic epitestosterone to mask his usage, we would see it on the cis test, but since he passed, he wasnt using steroids"

which is covering up the much more likely "jones cycled off and wasnt taking anything at the time, but his body hadnt returned to normal yet"

This I can respect. Personally, I think everyone is doing it, and if there's one thing I've learned from this it's that top mma camps are ahead of the testing curve.

Another part of me that is rocking the tin foil hat thinks Jon could be innocent of everything including the coke thing. I really don't trust the UFC or NSAC. when Dana pulled that nsac judge in China it was a clear demonstration of UFC reach when it comes to athletic commissions. Jones embarrassed them on 151 by not playing ball, and they may be strong arming him.

While I think his ratio and epi levels are shady, I don't think they are nearly as shady as how the whole situation was handled. Releasing test results a month later? Saying dc had a low ratio but no actual test report? Testing for a substance that wasn't supposed to be tested? It's just all fuckin weird.

And a nut less male is like .10:1.....and a normal male is .6:1 to 1.3:1.........but the Alpha males of the ufc are all abnormally low....they must all need TRT therapy or will soon....such a coincidence so many high level fighters have hypergonadism...

Dr. Christiane Ayotte, the head of the WADA-accredited laboratory in Montreal, saw no problem with Jones' T/E ratio.
One way to manipulate a T/E ratio downward would be to take epitestosterone, but Ayotte said that would be easily detected in a screening.

"I read the interviews of 'specialists' on that topic [in MMA media accounts], and, well, I am sorry, but such T/E values are not at all abnormal," she said. "

I agree with almost everything you said.

I do not agree with the whole "Jones let us down at 151 now let's make him look bad" thing. They wouldn't want their champion looking like a coke head in the public's eye. That's just silly.

My only question is, how are so many people in here getting away with accusing a fighter of steroids without proof? Isn't that fighter bashing?

Because we have evidence that shows his T/E ratio?

Where have you been, junior?

Settle down jon...We sent u to time out and ur being very naughty.

It seems that MMA fandom and media alike have just gone into collective emotional lockdown on this score. It's crazy.

THE POUND-FOR-POUND BEST FIGHTER ON THE PLANET JUST PRODUCED NOT ONE, NOT TWO, BUT THREE ABNORMAL TEST RESULTS THAT MAY (OR MAY NOT) INDICATE THE AFTERMATH OF PED USAGE DUE TO HIS HORMONE LEVELS BEING SOMEHOW 'SUPPRESSED'.

Can you imagine if Usain Bolt produced three suspicious test results? There'd be none of this 'let's just wait and see' crap from the media. They would be digging into this, and they would be running stories from different endocrinologists and doping experts 24/7. That's even more important in this sport, given how nobody trusts the regulators to be remotely competent at their jobs. The media is being completely supine and acting as a propaganda arm for those who run the sport, in that their silence is deafening.

Luke Thomas actually mentioned 'character assassination' from those who seek to hold Jones to account. Other media have talked of how 'speculating' is bad. Again, can you imagine the media adopting a similar stance over Usain Bolt? They would be all up in it, digging into it rather than just serenely waiting for decrees to come down from Mount Sinai, i.e. the NSAC. Stories would be flying left and right trying to work out what these ratios mean.

I am utterly disgusted at the silence from the media. It seems they are too incompetent to be investigators - in which case they really shouldn't be classified as journalists.
