Media Silence from the UFC + social media exchange revolving the MW title

It's rumored that the UFC wanted Chimaev vs RDR for the MW title. The latter promised that taking a fight before would only prove how he's the biggest threat.

But now that it didn't turn out as planned, the UFC have stayed very quiet and Dana has not said one word about the card/fight. They're now forced to risk Imavov becoming champ.

As disappointed is Chimaev who called out RDR on X for not living up to his words. De Ridder replied by attacking Chimaev's problems with the immune system back when he overtrained.

Thought this was interesting enough. Could it be they've had some kind of verbal agreement all along, and that RDR really had to shit the bed for Imavov to make it first in line?

I like Fluffy and think he's a bigger threat to Chimaev, but Imavov deserves to be the next contender. He is probably the most deserving contender in the whole UFC, after beating Dolidze, Cannonier, Allen, Adesanya, and Borralho.

The fun-fight guy in me wants to agree with this 100%, but the anti-UFC-taking-the-piss-with-rankings part of me says no one but Imavov should get the next shot, regardless of how unlikely he is to win

Yeah he’s been quiet about the injury, he never disclosed what it was or a timeline from what ‘ve seen
Hopefully it’s nothing bad

They will probably save Kham for Whitehouse card now

MW is the worst division.

It's taken over for WW. WW while full of rank squaters is at least renewed with brady, gary, prates and morales.

i dont have the same excitement for fluffy, allen or Imavov.

Sometimes a guy has just earned his shot. Imanov has done that. There really doesnt need to be a discussion. Its a champs job to fight the next guy up. Ddp did that he didnt duck khamzat he fought him. Khamzat needs to defend it doesn't matter what's the most. Marketable. A champ gets one defense one fight they want. Thats how it goes

Fluffy vs Caio was my preference too, but depends on what type of injury really. Fluffy deserves a no-bullshit title eliminator, DDP would qualify him for that and probably work bilaterally.

I'm going to be super irritated if Khamzat only ends up fighting 1.5 times next year.

No, we don't "need" Strickland-Allen 2. But having Allen skip Fluffy to fight DDP would be complete nonsense. And having Fluffy fight down in the rankings against Caio (coming off a loss) would be complete nonsense. Fluffy's next fight should obviously be a #1 contender fight.
