Television Shogun

Only watched the first episode. Pretty awesome. Currently debating whether I want to watch this week to week or wait for the whole thing to be available.
How many episodes are there?

Having never known about books my first look at this story was from Nobunaga's Ambition ( rise to power play station 2 game which i still play! and Samuri Warriors2 also PS2.. i love the tv series so far.. and plan trying to now get book ! cant wait for the next episode

The mini series with Chamberlain was complete ass.
Then you are just clueless. They absolutely nailed the japanese culture and time it played in. The japanese actors were magnificent. It had a kind of honesty in not shying away from unpleasant parts that was truly unique but kept an adventurous approach. Mifune and Shimada put on performances for the ages.

Regarding the new show it could be good but its just close to impossible nowadays that modern politics arent enforced into shows. I expect warrior women fighting..etc which would be utter nonsense but maybe I am wrong there. Will look into it when all episodes are released.

I've never read the book or seen the original show but the first 2 episodes were great.

Ye I dont understand why Magua said that. The original is fucking awesome and mirrors feudal Japan. Didnt read all the book cause its so big but the miniseries is better. I learned to speak Japanese because of it.
And yes Toshiro Mifuni fucking nailed it he was alpha as fuck.
Did Rodriguez die in the new show? He also was real cool in the original.
May do another drunk movie night of the og when I get off yellow cards.

I know nothing about the books or the first series, but we watched the first two ep and so far the show is fantastic.

I love they actually have them speaking Japanese with subtitles. Looking forward to this very much.

Started it thinking all the episodes were already out. So far so good, but I’m going to put it on hold until all the episodes of S1 is out. I started Warrior on Netflix and it’s pretty good too. Should keep me busy for the next month or two.

Richard Chamberlains reaction to Mariko offering him a companion in the newest episode was alot better in the og than this new one.

I'm a big fan of the older version. Chamberlain also had a much more charming appearance that he could realistically make the Japanese women wet. In this version, Cosmo Jarvis looks more like a clueless dog.

Mariko (Yoko Shimada) had an elegance and a way of carrying her body so that it almost floated above the earth. This series' Mariko doesn't even look like a Japanese one, more a mix between a Thai and a Cambodian.

Ye it looked weak when the new guy bowed too. In the og they had to freakin make Richard bow.
Richard acted like a proud man and a bad ass. This new guy doesnt.
Toshiru even looked alpha doing the dance Anjin san showed him in the og.
It was just alot better. Im enjoying the new one tho.

Seems the ho also showed her fine boobs in some Japanese movie on Netflix. I only saw one screenshot.

Shows solid. Those Portuguese guys are some bad hombres. Only bad thing about this show are some of these dudes haircuts lmao.

So far show is keeping it solid. Good fights, good intrigue and production value.

The Spaniard is hilarious. I enjoy the hell out of them trading insults.
It was driving us crazy why he seemed so familiar! Eventually it was the voice that helped us figure out who it was.
