Strongman/Armwrestling Sherdog Strongman Discussion V2

Supposedly Shane Flowers dropped an anvil on his foot on the first event, went to the hospital after then came back to do the Deadlift

Looks like he's withdrawn now

Brian might now make it out of his Group , Hooper has a commanding lead and is pretty much the group winner now.

Hooper is really the big surprise of this year. I knew he was strong going in, simply from his training footage and his 475 kg deadlift. But he's really blowing some great strongmen out of the water here. Very impressive how he just dominated Shaw, Bobby T and Janashia to the point where the last event is just a formality for him.

It's great to see his impressive training footage translating to competition. He seems to be a great mix of static static strength with speed. Maybe even a mateauz without the weak deadlift?

Could very well be. I still want to see more of him, as there are many events we have no real data on him. But he's probably one of the biggest prospects in the sport right now.
I only learned today that he's 26 years old. For some reason I thought he was 31 or something. He's probably not even at his peak yet.

Let's just pray to the strongman gods he doesn't end up plagued with injuries like mateauz

Brian taking it hard via Sad face filter lol. I could not stop laughing.

With all groups dominated by the number 1s this is looking to be a fantastic world's. It's great they're all doing the same events.

Go on Gav!

Stoltman Brothers, Novikov, Licis and Hooper I think these 5 will favorites for the Podium . For me Tom and Martins will be the main ones aing for the top, Tom to me is probably a bit stronger but Martins has had a trend of excellent endurance and consistency over the course of a contest , he pretty much peaked at the correct times at Rogues and Arnold's and I think he has another gear for the 2nd day of the finals.

Luke was faster in the loading and was comparable in deadlift, he's been gaining the last two years, stoltman podiums beckon.

I hope Luke does well but I feel Tom just has more in the tank and more physical advantages. Martins was the first strongman I really followed back when he was brand new to youtube so want him to win but think Tom will be hard to beat. Who knows though plenty could happen, the Flintstone lift especially is an unknown that could ruin some chances.
