Strongman/Armwrestling Sherdog Strongman Discussion V2

Loz said on the livestream it was heatstroke which is better than another torn bicep or something at least

Scheduling strongman events in cities where it isn't rare to surpass 100* doesn't seem wise in a sport where the average competitor is 6'5 300+lbs.

Yeah totally but they keep doing it for some reason. I really support giving them a break and choosing somewhere mild for a change

Brian is in danger of not making it to the Finals, Hooper is dominating that group so far.

I hope Brian makes it, but he's holding on too long at this point (given his goal is to win, obviously). He's got so much else going that's incredibly successful.

Or some place cold.

They should do it near where I live, anywhere from freezing to low 30sC depending on the season and I'd get to watch

He was second just last year though. Don't write him off yet

If that's the case it might be a big mistake if he ends up in the stone off

I think he beats any of them in stones but that's a lot of extra work to put in
His best shot is that the next two events should be heavier, that test hoppers baseline static strength.

Good hopefully it was just heat exhaustion and not a heat stroke, if you get a heat stroke you get more vulnerable to the heat in the future.

Yeah i thought it might be his shoulder has he's had a problem with that coming into the competition, glad to see he's ok and able to compete again

Hooper has a solid log press and claims yoke is his best event so car walk should be ok too. Brian can still win from here but it won't be easy

The issue is money the money they where offered they could not pass up the sport unfortunately is most popular in areas that have beaches and much fitness and bodybuilding. The Worlds stongest man even though it does not offer the most money it is still the premiere event. I believe they are on the 3rd year of a five year deal with the city of Sacramento?

2nd of a 3 year deal according to this https://sacramento.cbslocal.com/202...worlds-strongest-man-competition-3-year-deal/

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Sacramento will be the home of the World’s Strongest Man competition for the next couple of years, organizers announced on Wednesday.

The multi-year deal means that the popular event will be held in Sacramento in 2021 and 2022. A third year in Sacramento is also expected to be announced later.
