The issue as Brian already admitted is these events are becoming less about pure strength to becoming more about aerobic and breaking world records are less important more about handling the reps and there is a greater chance of injury for the bigger guys. The first day events took there toll on the bigger guys it seems.
 
I guess next up is the Arnold Santa Monica next month? Anyone one know of any other legit events?

Hard to judge since we won't get to see footage. I mean the turnaround was also quick especially since they lost the 1st Day, Conditioning was definitely a factor .

No recovery after qualifiers is big fucking deal. It's not being broadcast, so just stretch it out by a day.
 
There is a German kid who is ether 20 or 21 and has topped 750 lbs in the bench he is weighing ether entering power-lifting competitions or WSM. He made Larry Wheels look like a child .

He's 22 , beast of a young man, too short for Strongman, even Novikov is at least 6'1 this guy is shorter than that.

Yeah to me the Arnold is the better test of Strength. Novikov is a beast but , is he 'stronger" than Thor who won the Arnold this year and also Pulled a 501Kg Deadlift , probably not.

The Arnold has always been the heavier event by my recollection.

Scary to think Big Z holds nearly half the Arnold first place trophies.

Hopefully that picks up steam. Would be cool to see a Triad of top events , the Arnold Classic Storngman, the WSM and then Shaw's event.
