Damn what does that mean for the Persona series?
I really cannot imagine something that broad can hold up to any legal challenge. Especially this day and age where something that vague could cover hundreds and maybe thousands of games

Some details on the AC:Black Flag remake

  • The remake removes the modern day and replaces them with more content in Edward's pirate era (a few extra hours compared to the original)
  • Gameplay will shift closer to the RPG-style of newer AC games
  • Loot and gear stats for Edward
  • Inventory systems and combat leaning toward the RPG style rather than the choreographed combat of the original
  • No loading screens when moving between ship and land
  • Map is not bigger, but islands will be filled with more activities and side content
  • Expected to include cut content from the original, like parts of Mary Read's storyline that were dropped in 2013
  • It's not on the same "big budget remake" level as Resident Evil 2 or Silent Hill 2, but more of a faithful reimagining with updates
  • Uses Ubisoft's new Anvil Pipeline engine (same as AC Shadows)
  • Release window: currently targeted for early 2026 (likely March), though some sources think it could slip to late 2026.
  • They are reusing some assets from Skull & Bones to cut costs, but it won't be obvious to players.

I read that a lot of people are apparently upset about the removal of the modern day “outside the animus” content which I find quite odd. I haven’t played Assassin’s Creed since AC 3 in 2012 but all I remember was that going back to the Desmond days people hated that content right from day one with the og Assassin’s Creed in 2007. Kind of wild to me to see people crying to bring it back in response to the news of its exclusion. It’s even more strange for AC4 from what I hear as it was never even a continuation of Desmond’s story but rather you play as some jobber Abstergo office worker or some shit.

Yea if this was AC1-3 I would be pissed about the removal but in AC4 its a new story that kind of connects to the Desmond story line but I'm not even sure it ever goes anywhere. I would be glad to have it removed from AC4.

The completely gutting the gameplay and using skull and bones assets "that no one will notice' make me even less interested in this one than I already was. And 4 was the last one I really enjoyed and put time into. Also, if that game comes out by early 2027 I would be shocked with Ubi's track record.

This remake has such a shadow cast over it, IMO. S&B asset flip aside, it’s just more (re)treading water from Ubi, who are wildly innovation-averse these last years.

@Bobby Boulders You see Yakuza 3 remastered is coming in Feb 26’? It’s also coming with a duel game “dark ties” where you play as yashitaka mine (Diagos underling). Not really sure how I feel about these spinoffs but I get they need new storylines and blood. Anyways looks good so far I’ll grab it.

That's amazing. I actually enjoyed the story of 3, it was just that going from relatively new Kiwami 1 & 2 to 3 Remastered was so deflating. They can give 3, 4 and 5 the Kiwami treatment and life will be great, imo

Then put them all in a a super cheap bundle like they used to do!

Is there an actual plot? Is it a relatively short game?
Nah it’s long I gave a small write up of it awhile back,. weak story line..way to much useless dialogue (even for a yakuza game). It had it’s moments though. Even if it’s just a remake time to go back to Japan where the competitions easier.
