If you’re a Yakuza fan its worth owning especially on a discount. But imo the weakest so far.

I kind of disagree.

The plot is alright, nothing brilliant but okay, but the gameplay is very good, Majima has always shined as a frontman and there is a lot of side content in the game. There is a lot of variety in the minigames too. I bought it full price and didn't regret it at all.

3/4/5 and Ishin are all weaker. I do prefer the grittier stories of the older games though and I'm tiring of Hawaii as a setting. It's nice but it seems to be part of the Yakuza series jumping the shark. I've found that it's getting a bit too goofy in the more modern games.

Forza horizon 6 will be in Japan!

The Subsiduary between Ubisoft and Tencent announced a few months ago finally has a name: Vantage Studios

The breakout game development business co-owned by Tencent and Ubisoft finally has a name: Vantage Studios. Eurogamer understands from a source that it's starting operations today, and will be responsible for new games across many of Ubisoft's biggest IPs, such as Far Cry, Rainbow Six Siege, and Assassin's Creed.

Vantage Studios is composed of 2,300 employees across multiple Ubisoft game development teams, including those from Montreal Quebec, Sherbrooke, Saguenay, Sofia, and Barcelona. The studio will be run by the duo of Christophe Derennes and Charlie Guillemot. Vantage Studios operate under a less centralised model compared to Ubisoft proper, with each development team having more ownership over its own respective project. This in theory would allow developers to be more fluid, and pivot according to industry changes and player expectations, per Eurogamer sources.

Pulling this from elsewhere because in discussion of 2025 GotY, it made me realise how sweaty the race is.

What’s everyone’s personal pick ATM?

Did anyone here play Blue Prince? I think that game is hot garbage, and was totally gobsmacked to see it receiving such critical acclaim.
I still do not know what it is honestly, same with Monster Train

It reminds me of something like Myst, but infused with roguelike elements. You have to explore a mansion and solve puzzles, but the rooms are randomly drawn each attempt. So, you can do everything right, but have to start all over because you didn't draw the right rooms. Just a shameless way to pad out the playtime, but I know roguelikes are all the rage these days. Also, I'm normally pretty tolerant of indie aesthetics, but the game is butt ugly, lol.

Well Blue Prince aside, this has been one hell of a year for games. And while I don't know that anything in the next 3 months will crack this list, there is still 3 months left to go.

I haven’t even heard of it until seeing it listed among the other games in Val’s post above.

I haven’t played any of those games, but it would nice to see an original IP win instead of a sequel, so I guess I would hope that Expedition 33 will win even though Kingdom Come Deliverance II, Silksong and Hades 2 all have a lot of clout this year.

It’s really anybody’s guess at this point.

Massive 1.5 TB data breach of Discord 3P servers reported, including government material.

The popular communication platform Discord is facing an extortion attempt following a significant data breach at one of its third-party customer service providers, Zendesk.

Threat actors claim to have stolen 1.5 terabytes of sensitive data, including over 2.1 million government-issued identification photos used for age verification.

While Discord confirms the breach, it disputes the scale of the incident, stating that approximately 70,000 users had their ID photos exposed.
