he knows his base doesnt care. he could come out with photos of his dick in a 10 year old orphan girl and so long as he says Abortion is bad and the libs are getting owned, he'd secure 50% of the vote in his state.

That would be up to Biden, if he felt that an individual caused him damages over it. It's give and take. The police aren't going to show up to your door because you broke some universal law or anything. It would up to Biden to file a complaint and make his case.

But yeah, I think slander/defamation laws are important, and people should be able to sue for any damages it might cause them. Nothing to do with Biden, or any other high profile person. It's a rule that applies across the board, regardless. Look at Bieber right now. He's suing the fuck out of a couple of twitter posters for saying that he sexually assaulted them. Should he be able to sue them? Umm, yes.

Interesting take. Biden sexually molested and assaulted multiple women, including on TV in front of millions to see and he's now the Democrats Presidential nominee. Man, reality sucks when it bursts your safe space.

Meh. I loved SBCs old-school stuff. When he first hit the scene in the UK he was fresh and funny af but his shtick got old a very long time ago. Nowadays he's just nasty and it's quite painful to see him desperately flogging the proverbial dead horse with these shitty half baked characters he's cooked up.

It looks like this was a motion for judgment on the pleadings (12c motion), not even a summary judgment. According to this, it appears the judge ruled based on whether the consent agreement was enforceable, not on the defamation question.

Cohen's attorneys probably tried to knock out all of Moore's claims by saying Moore didn't plead sufficient facts to show he wasn't aware, or should have been aware, the consent agreement he signed applied to Cohen's 'interview'. A 12(c) motion only the tests the sufficiency of the plead facts of the complaint, it does NOT resolve or evaluate any of the plaintiff's claims or factual disputes.

Your contention that the Judge in any was agreeing with Moore about defamation is incorrect.

i’d maybe consider this a small victory for Roy Moore in the proceedings, but canland championing this as some sort of epic triumph is absolutely hilarious. Moore’s lawsuit still hasn’t even made it out of the pre-trial stage, yet canland is acting like SBC might as well be already wiring millions of dollars into Moore’s bank account.

Yeah, outside of some vial clips, I don't believe his new show was all that popular. Once he got big, the veil naturally came off of his schtick. He was great for while there though, and he struck when the iron was hot. "Borat" was the perfect culmination of all of his work. After that, it started to feel really forced.
