Kabul doesn't have such mental value in Afganistsn like Moscow or Kiev might have for Russia or Ukr.
For them it is big market place.
God is everywhere and they does have damn a lot of natural and further modified natural caves and basements etc stuff...plus it is large country with mountains and valleys...with low population density.
It is insanely hard to inspect at least a bit of them even if you have last gen equipment.....

1979 was...surprisingly easy in Kabul ( Cabul ) and later...

Yeah later they completely screwed up. But the decapitation strike on Amin was very successful.

Fast forward to 2022- the decapitation strike on Zelensky failed. There is obviously very, very little public information about this, but if I had to bet, I'd say Zelensky was likely protected by American or British special forces. I'm thinking one reason Russia thought it would be easy is they had likely turned some of his presidential bodyguard, who they expected to kill him for however many rubles and a dacha in Sochi.

In Belgorod, Russia someone has been smoking in the FORBIDDEN ZONE!

and still going much later

Ukrainian military is not messing around from the looks of it including Turkish head visiting Ukraine it means Putin is feeling the heat and the newest story that Russian Soldiers have been shooting themselves in the leg to get a quick 80,000 dollars don't ask me about the ruble amount it was a lot.

That's about 5 million. Close to what a soldiers family gets, when he gets killed. Maybe it depends on the region.

In theory if they get really unlucky I suppose it's possible to get the 80k if you shoot yourself in the foot.

Did trump give Ukraine’s, a close ally, nuclear info to Russia to execute this cyber attack? Makes me really start to question trump with this mar-a-lago raid, as he could have given Putin info on how to do this.

Perhaps not coincidental Ukraine also mentioned about hitting a nuclear power plant where Russians had posted up. Did trump just start world war 3?

then you look at how the Saudis and Jared are benefitting from this with Putin it is prettt obvious what is happening

Are we going to have a "Special Operation Turkey now"? Erdogan just pledged Turkish support to Ukraine I am not sure how deep this is but this comes after Erdogan got a cold reception from Putin and Ukrainian President Zelensky held up his end of the bargain with Erdogan over the grain shipments.

"
Turkey's president has today rallied in support of Ukraine, with Zelensky hailing the NATO member's powerful message- just two weeks after Erdogan flew to Sochi for talks with Vladimir Putin.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Voldymyr Zelensky in the western city of Lviv in Ukraine and afterwards expressed Turkey's support towards Ukraine to reporters.

Russian air defense was active and intercepted some UAV as can be seen in the above video. However there is reported fire in Sevastopol, Crimea:

Source is pro-ukrainian so don't know if it's a legit video. Russian sources on TG have confirmed the attack too, but they say air defense was spot on. Tomorrow we'll know more.

Further attacks on Crimea highlight Russia's weakened position. Keep in mind that Russia officially considers Crimea to be part of Russia, not a separatist region.

No idea. I think a fair assessment was that their army was not ready for prime time and this was hidden from leadership due to corruption, but that said, there seems to be no strategy right now other than to dump cartoonish amounts of artillery shells on the Ukrainian positions and blow things up with missiles. If this decision paralysis continues, they will likely lose as eventually Ukraine will get it together. I found the translated bits of this helpful:

At the same time, as @SandisLL has noted, the Russian special forces seem really good, while the regular troops are sub par. 2014 seizure of Crimea was executed brilliantly. I think Sandis has mentioned the December 1979 Kabul operation being carried out flawlessly- but then the regular Soviet troops came in and messed up. Seems to be a pattern.

This seems to have carried forward to the Ukraine war. Whoever seized the bridges, railroad junctions, etc that let Russian troops surge out of Crimea in the first days of the war did a brilliant job, these must have been very well trained. But the regular troops (even Filyatov, the paratooper above) seem to be extremely neglected.

They don’t do a good job training their regulars or their conscripts. They have an incredibly toxic environment that just discourages any form of motivation. I remember a long time ago listening to Fedor talk about his time as a conscript. He was bullied relentlessly and the only good thing he had to say about it was that it ended.

Can't even imagine how happy the MIC is right now. First Biden fucks them by pulling out of Afghanistan and then out of nowhere Putin just hands them the gift of life by starting a war no one expected him to start.

What you are saying is Putin is creating jobs.
First he gets NATO 2 new members in Sweden and Finland and now he is creating jobs in the MIC industry.
I mean, this guy!

Next false flag operation, IMHO.

Anyway looks that ukr will get some help: Canada had lend them next package loan 450 m$ are transfered.
Estonia this month had delivered them mortars and ammo etc aporox 30 m$ worth next package.
Initially in march military assistance for ukr from Estonia was approx 220 m USD worth ...
IMHO this now is stuff they had bought somewhere cos not likely they allowed to deplete their own stocks and they love mortars a lot...

Russia refused to de militarize Zaporozia nuclear power plant...
The request was just to remove troops from nuclear power plant's territory...
This didn't had meaning that they can't have troops outside from plant's territory.
+ again had used their veto rights in useless U.N parody org...

Not really the enviroment, though it differs where you serve. Its just that they dont train you, you might spend entire service building summer cottage for your units general.

I was saying before invasion here on dog how much training there sucks yet no one believed.

Spec ops is only one that work ok.

Well today's the day if Ukraine largest nuclear plant gets major problems. As shared already Russian nuclear workers where told not to show up for work on Friday. The other was a video of Russian trucks parked inside the plant over diesel generator. Some believe Russia plans on creating a false flag in the plant.

Russian take on last night's actions:

Attacks on the Crimean bridge and Belbek by drones have been officially confirmed. This time there was no damage. But personally, I believe that in both cases the enemy carried out reconnaissance in combat, aimed at identifying forces and means, as well as the degree of readiness of our air defense / missile defense system in order to assess the feasibility of a massive strike.

From my exp...about h2h....
well worked lads from Criminal Police special unit and anti terrorism unit ( i don't mean here riot control ).
These guys usually were with some h2h exp from their teen years and some training during these years + they had served as a pros earlier...
F.e former paratrooper or as undercover criminal police guy....
There is stuff that they are level above casual pro paratrooper.

Russian airport in Belbek, Crimea has been hit by ukrainians. Fire and detonations heard.

That is recycled footage. Belbek is a extremely juicy target though, ramp full of unprotected aircraft.
