Well actually if you watched the video it says the issue was more substantial in 2014 than it is now, and outlines the reasons.

People all over the world have been paying high prices for gas compared to their income for a long time. A lot of Americans can be very entitled and they live in a bubble, that is until the bubble gets temporarily popped by some annoying inconvenience like 9/11, once in a century pandemic, or a land war in Europe. Tbf it seems like the public is firmly behind this course of action against Russia despite the few loud mouths who are always looking for reasons to bitch.
