International Russia/Ukraine Megathread V15

How naive. Do you think Russian conscripts have a choice? You die in Ukraine, or you die in Russia. Russia will kill them for sure in Russia. In Ukraine they at least have a chance. What do you think happened to WWII Russian (Soviet) youth who refused to fight? First wave sent out was fully armed. Second wave went without weapons and picked up the weapons of their dead comrades. Right behind that were the Soviet Security Police making sure no one was retreating. If they were, they would be shot on the spot. I would not doubt that Ukraine is doing the same with their soldiers in one way or another. It is just not being reported. Ukrainian and Russians have a lot in common. Guess who will run out of soldiers first? Other countries? Yes. Go back and look at the Iran/Iraq war. Iran had children roll themselves across minefields to blow up mines and clear a way for the soldiers to cross.
This mostly Hollywood fan fiction. Believe it or not, enemy at the gates was not a true story.

By the end of 1941, Zhukov had outlawed human wave attacks that Stalin had been ordering to preserve manpower. There were instances where Red Army units were caught unprepared due to the speed of the German advance and weapons had not reached the troops, but again it's fan fiction that they were deliberately sent to attack without weapons. If there was one thing the Soviets actually did have in great supply at the outbreak of the war it was mosin rifles. The use of blocking troops to kill deserters is also highly exaggerated by Hollywood, generally they would just detain the retreating troops and not outright kill them.

During World War II, Soviet troops often had to improvise or go without weapons, vehicles, and other equipment because of logistical difficulties. This was especially true in 1941, when the Red Army was fighting the Germans in the western areas of the Soviet Union.

Logistical difficulties:
  • Many depots and the USSR's industrial manufacturing base were in the western areas of the Soviet Union, which were invaded by the Germans.
  • The Red Army had to re-establish these depots east of the Ural Mountains.
  • The Red Army often had to improvise or go without weapons, vehicles, and other equipment. (i.e. Battle of Moscow, 1941.)

Is this supposed to contradict anything I just said?

You typed out the plot of enemy of the gates like it was the reality.

There thing called ukrainian nation doesn't exist, there isn't thing called ukrainian language. Putin. March 2022 th.
Country Ukraine does not exist.
We will correct mistakes.
Medvedev. March 2022 th.

We will eliminate Moldova from face of earth.
D. Medvedev, Deputy secretary of security council of russian federation.
August 2022 th.

Btw there is a video posted yesterday of this Medvedev clown guy visiting hospitalized soldiers of some special rus unit, it is kind of bizarre as the clown only talks to the soldiers from a long distance and is possibly afraid by something to get closer to them

I've written about the Ernest and Goodwin story last summer and it still continues to be very actual among famous rus telegramers. Here is one of the popular takes on that case and the general incompetency situation overall:

As for Ernest and Goodwin, they were still alive, but the command said they weren't there. They were 200 meters from the chief of staff's house, but no one went to check if they were alive or not. And after this, everyone should at least shut up out of respect for the families of the dead and respect for themselves, and for those guys who are really fighting for the "smart guys" sitting in the rear, who will then shout about "their" Great Victory.

Here's what I'll say - victory will be brought, if it is a real victory, and not a deal, then it will be brought by these guys, like Ernest and Goodwin. Obstinate, with their own opinion, wrong somewhere, with arrogance, but generally strong-willed people. These are the ones who win, knowing that they are going to certain death - and they still go to it. There is no point in slandering their names - it is disgusting and shameless.

I am familiar with some of the materials of the case on the death of Ernest and Goodwin. I have no right to accuse or defend anyone before the investigation. But I will give you just a few facts:

1. The house where Goodwin and Ernest were located was 200 meters from the house of the chief of staff.

2. When they were hit, no one went to check. They said they did not know about the landing. Although see point 1.

3. They were still alive, but they were not saved. The command reported that they were not there. Although there was even video evidence.

4. The wives of these soldiers were also sent to the assault.

5. In this story, many people were threatened to keep quiet.

Why did this happen? Because very often people who came and come to positions, both military and civilian, have a "black" biography. Those who do not know say, here he is fighting, commanding, the rest refused, but he is a hero - he did not refuse. It is worth figuring out why he did not refuse - heroism or the opportunity to make money? Saving the fatherland or the desire of the authorities? Whose protégé is this commander? Who did he help to take out and who to dispossess, who to squeeze out? These people, who previously had nothing and were nothing - suddenly receive uncontrolled power. And here lies the problem. After all, they are the same people above them, they are obliged to those who promoted them, who protect them. Bound by one chain.

For many from the DPR and LPR, I will not reveal the secret that absolute swindlers and bandits were appointed to positions because some individuals really wanted to make money on the war and on the tragedy. Even now, here and there these lackeys crawl out, whom no one respects, who have a trail of betrayals and other crimes, and suddenly they are a regional party coordinator, or a local deputy or someone else.

In war, not everyone must necessarily be saints and positive heroes. This is not a script for a book - this is life. One person can combine valor and abuse of power, and defense of the homeland and murder of a prisoner. Good and evil are so mixed up there that they cannot be separated. But when people in positions are a solid clot of shit, without even a vein of adequacy, then they can lay down so many people for their own benefit and greed, for them there is no homeland, and they do not understand the word "honor", but only mimic for their own benefit.

P.S.: And, of course, this is a slap in the face to the entire legal system of the Russian Federation, when people who are participants in this whole story with Ernest and Goodvin are forced to hide, flee from other regions of Russia (since in the DPR and LPR they will easily kill you and no one will look for you) and ask for protection from the Far Eastern Republic and other law enforcement agencies.

Life is normal as usual in Moscow and Ternopil but not in Kharkiv or Belgorod. War kills economy like it or not:

Business in Shebekino, which is already on its last legs, should, according to the administration, pay its employees more for working in the frontline zone. At the same time, there is no state aid to enterprises and they are simply dying. But somehow they must find the means to not close down and to raise the workers' pay.

The Shebekinsky District Administration wants to "preserve the human resources potential" of the region at the expense of enterprises, but without state support and state decisions, this is stated in a letter to local businesses.

Business should be socially oriented, but the Belgorod administration, apparently, does not owe anything to anyone. We all see the problems of the Kursk Region, since the enemy entered there and captured part of the territory, but we do not see that there are serious problems in Belgorod and they have been going on for the second year already.

And to solve the problems in the Belgorod Region, they are shaking up business again. Do the entrepreneurs of the Shebekinsky District feel so good and confident financially that they send out such directives? Clients flowing in, orders pouring in? I know very well how things are going for entrepreneurs in the Belgorod region. They are barely making ends meet. There was a lot of talk about government support for businesses. I collected these proposals myself and passed them on. In fact, no real support measures were provided - too expensive, too much trouble, let them get by on their own. And now let them help the region "preserve its human resources." And you, you, gentlemen officials, what have you done to preserve it?

Local media report that 35.7 million rubles were spent on purchasing tulip bulbs in 2022, 54.1 million rubles in 2023, and 84.6 million rubles in 2024. And in the same long-suffering Shebekino, a tender for 9 million was recently rolled out for planting annual flowers.

I understand that life is everywhere, but maybe it would be more logical to allocate those same 9 million now not for marigolds, but to support the same business?

Russian troops that refuse a new contract?

"You go to the meat-grinder in Kursk, comrade."

You really believe UKR is sending their soldiers in and having people behind them pick up their weapons and march forward after they are killed? but yet at same time you say they they have no soldiers ...it's as if you are almost full of BS with your posts.

No, I'm saying Ukrainian men are being conscripted like Russian men without a choice. What is the punishment for desertion in the Ukrainian Army during war?
When did I say Ukraine had no soldiers? If that was the case, there would be no conflict.

Is this the result of you trying some 'mad' honey for the first time?

Yes.

What does a movie have to do with anything? Go read some history.

I have, you clearly haven't. The movie scene you described in the post I quoted simply did not occur.

As I said, there were some extreme situations incredibly early in the war where some units were separated from their equipment due to the speed of the German advance and were cut down while trying to escape encirclement, but the Red Army did not order men to battle without rifles and ammo.

They were making millions of small arms per year by 1941 and had large stockpiles of rifles from WWI and the Russian Civil War.

There are two occasions where there is evidence that Red Army soldiers entered combat without weapons. At Stalingrad, some Divisions did not have enough weapons, and men were ordered to pick up weapons of fallen comrades. There are also a few occasions when unarmed soldiers in punishment Battalions were ordered to clear German mines. The Soviet Union employed penal Battalions, which often consisted of soldiers who had committed offenses or were considered unreliable. These soldiers were sometimes sent into combat with limited or no weapons, particularly in high-casualty situations where they were used as shock troops to absorb enemy fire or to push forward in attacks.

In 1941, the rapid progress of the initial German air and land attacks into the Soviet Union made Red Army logistical support difficult because many depots (and most of the USSR's industrial manufacturing base) lay in the country's invaded western areas, obliging their re-establishment east of the Ural Mountains. Lend-Lease trucks and jeeps from the United States began appearing in large numbers in 1942. Until then, the Red Army was often required to improvise or go without weapons, vehicles, and other equipment.

So basically exactly what I said except you copy pasted it from a Google search. Lmao

Sonia Donald Trump ending this war in 24 hours or not?
Woah woah woah.... we're just at sending air controllers home and having military trainee pilots in helicopters crash into passenger plane phase .. . all in due time...

He also didn't specify which 24 hours ...

🤣
Why is that?
Rebuild itself from what? Has it been destroyed? Do you think this is the first time in Russian history that the country has been affected by war?
...and what about Ukraine rebuilding itself? Only with western help. Neither country has come even close to Japan and Germany after WWII.
You silly boy. The fall of the Soviet Union, maybe you've heard of it, back when Russia was the number two world power.

Ukraine going to get the Musk treatment soon enough they will be saluting Putin and run by a Nazi white supremacist.

"
NEW YORK/WASHINGTON, Feb 1 (Reuters) - The United States wants Ukraine to hold elections, potentially by the end of the year, especially if Kyiv can agree a truce with Russia in the coming months, President Donald Trump's top Ukraine official told Reuters.
Keith Kellogg, Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, said in an interview that Ukrainian presidential and parliamentary elections, suspended during the war with Russia, "need to be done"."
