International Russia/Ukraine Megathread V15

You are unable to look at the conflict from a neutral perspective.

You also ignore the west's hostile foreign policy in countries like Iraq, afghanistan, Libya, Syria and on and on. You think this time is different. You're not thinking with a clear head.

Eehh..
Russia is good, the west is bad. That's of more importance.

You and the west have evil in your heart.

Yeah... maybe you should get off your high horse there...

Alexey Navalny has died in a Russian prison.

"LONDON (Reuters) - Alexei Navalny, reported to have died on Friday by Russia's prison service, was the fiercest domestic opponent of Vladimir Putin, whom he accused of trying to kill him and of having him jailed on bogus charges and deprived of medical care. He was 47."

Another example of what a joke of a country Russia has become. A banana republic.

Sudden death when he looked fit and healthy just the day before. It's almost like they moved him to IK-3 penal colony in Kharp, Siberia to bump him off.

Oceanmachine/snowblind love/copper burner isn't a tankie.

Tankies are socialists that hate capitalist democracies because they're unsuccessful losers in the capitalist system despite "being smarter" than everyone else and aren't capable of self reflection.
E.g @ferrisjso

@Copper Burner is a conservative religious nutjob that hates democracies because gays.

Still retarded but on the other end of the political spectrum and at least Russia does actually hate the gays.

MSM has been pretty shit at informing people about what sanctions do. They make importing stuff more expensive as they allow the countries bypassing sanctions to gouge Russia on a price point.

Same with the exportation. China and India are gouging Russian commodity prices and often doing the reverse by then on-selling it to the west.

They're not instantaneous but they do work in the long term. Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world and is dirt poor. Russia is helped massively by not being in debt when this started like most western countries.

The damage of sanctions are going to hit Russia substantially harder in 2024 than they have the previous years because Ukraine is now doing this almost every week:

If Ukraine can ratchet this up to multiple times a week/daily it will pose some real issues around the profitability of Russia's already strained hydrocarbon market.

Venezuela main problem is terrible administration. Even Iran is doing better. In some aspects North Korea is doing better.
About Russia, sure they are losing some but they are not crumbling due to the sanctions. It's not 1980 where the G7 detained 50% of the world gdp PPP. And where sanctions meant that all your industries would collapse due to a lack of spare parts.

No its not.
You claim others are unable to be neutral, while you your self is not able to be neutral.
Its called being a hypocrite.
You wear it well.

I will be on the right side of history.

Except Ukraine never seceded, it was a Russian colony that managed to get independence, not a free State that willfully joined an Union of equals.

It's OK rod. You wouldn't get it anyways.

Let's all sit back and watch Russia and Ukraine rip each other to shreds. May the best country win.

At least the United States military industrial complex and blackwater will get super rich and the stock holders will be happy.

Then stop with the stupid analogies.

Let's all sit back and watch Russia and Ukraine rip each other to shreds.
Would rather not, let's instead hope that America will get rid of the MAGA, pro-Rus trash before its too late.

Ok hippie.

How many licks does it take to get to the center of Putin's boots?

Kyiv post so very tragic what is happening. Russia artillery is huge advantage. Europe alone cannot fill the gap. Debags on the Republican side are giving huge wins to Putler. Mike Johnson is a turd of the highest order costing a democratic country to fail.

"

Ukraine Withdraws From Position South of Embattled Avdiivka as Kremlin Infantry Advances

Battles were in progress deeper inside the city. Reports disagreed on how much longer hard-pressed Ukrainian forces could hold out, but most reported a massive Russian firepower advantage"

Word is 30,000 artillery shells being used a day by Russia vs around 8,000 by Ukrainians as well as meat walls.

McCall a Texas Republican has always supported Ukraine is pressing hard to get a vote on the floor.

"
Speaking during a discussion hosted by the Christian Science Monitor in Washington, D.C., McCaul said Johnson faces two challenging options: bring the supplemental to the floor and face a potential move to oust him from the far right, or let Ukraine backers in the party force the vote and undermine his power.

“I think that’s going to be a difficult choice for him, because if they’re threatening a motion to vacate, it’s a tough decision,” he said, referring to the rule that allows one member to force a vote on removing the Speaker from his position."

“I don’t see anyway of getting out of Israel, Indo Pacific and eventually Ukraine coming to the floor. He’s either going to have to do it — put it on the floor himself — or it’s going to be by virtue of a discharge petition, which is a complete evisceration of his power, because it basically says we’re going to do this without the Speaker being in charge,” the chairman continued.

Lawmakers could “discharge” legislation if a majority of members signed onto a petition to release it – a difficult path that would require most Democrats teaming up with at least a handful of Republicans. While Republicans hold a slim majority, Democrats could lose members of their own party in a discharge petition vote over progressive opposition to sending U.S. military support for Israel."

AOC already stated that she would support the bill. As much she dislikes the situation in Gaza she knows how much rides on this vote. So one progressive supports it.
