International Russia/Ukraine Megathread V15

Lol, I thought only Putin believed that BS. The fall of the USSR was one of the greatest things that happened in the 20th century. The former republics left the USSR as soon as they could, and only benefited from doing so. If the USSR (Russia) was so great, the USSR would've never failed. The reality is that Russians forced their ideas and way of life on a bunch of countries and did their best to destroy the identity of those countries. Corruption, incompetence, and that damned war against Afghanistan were the final nails in the coffin. Life in the Soviet Union SUCKED, my family lived through it. Life in Russia sucks compared to life in the West. I've lived there. Oh and the real tragedies of the 20th century were things like all the genocides (including Stalin's), famines, and the two world wars. I thought that would be common sense, but apparently it isn't to you and Putin.
In Mr Andropov era was cool.
after this falling had started. Before Gorbachev btw.
I always curious how delusional ppl are dreaming about nice and cool USSR.
Most likely they will accept that their kids will purchase vodka in retail stores and will pay bribes to plumber in order to get better quality job done? I had did such things as kid...yup.
BTW in black market if you knew ppl, were western cigarettes, cigars, alco, technique ...
Drugs too and this popped up exaclty in correlation with 1979-1989 th Afganistan stuff. Before this number of drugs addicts in USSR really was VERY low....rare cases...

New aid package

The new U.S. military aid package for Ukraine is not just limited to the ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile Systems) but also encompasses the Anti-Personnel/Anti-Materiel (APAM) munitions. These are designed to be compatible with the ATACMS platform, extending its utility against a wide range of target types. Notably, this version of the ATACMS is equipped with a payload that disperses cluster bomblets over a broad area, enhancing its efficacy against both materiel and personnel targets.

In addition to these advanced missile systems, the aid tranche is expected to bolster Ukraine's artillery capabilities. It includes additional ammunition for the 155mm howitzers and enhancements to the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS), providing Ukrainian forces with a substantial uplift in firepower.

The United States has temporarily halted military aid to Ukraine, a move that has significant implications given the ongoing conflict with Russia. This decision comes at a critical time when further assistance is contingent on Congressional approval for additional national security funding. The pause in aid is linked to a bill that failed to pass a procedural vote in the U.S. Senate on December 6th, 2023. The failure was due to Republican demands for stricter migration policies, particularly concerning strengthening the border with Mexico. The Republicans have conditioned the aid to Ukraine on the implementation of their preferred border policy, which Democrats do not agree with. As a result, the U.S. ran out of funds for new weapon purchases for Ukraine on December 30th, 2023, following the dispatch of equipment worth $250 million in the latest tranche of military aid announced on December 27th, 2023.

The significance of U.S. military and financial aid to Ukraine cannot be overstated, with concerns mounting over the potential impact of the cessation of this support. Russian President Vladimir Putin has remarked that Ukraine could not survive more than "a week" without Western aid, highlighting the critical role of international support in Ukraine's defense against Russia's invasion. The European Union official warned that the bloc could not replace the U.S. funding gap, signaling potential challenges for Ukraine's continued resistance.

The geopolitical landscape is further complicated by political dynamics within the United States. With conservatives potentially making gains in upcoming U.S. elections, there is a growing discourse around the need for Europe to increase its defense spending and take a more prominent role in supporting Ukraine. The disparity between American and European military assistance to Ukraine is notable, with Washington's support significantly outpacing European efforts. This situation underscores the strategic importance of U.S. aid to Ukraine's defense capabilities and the broader implications for NATO and European security.

So looks like the Freedom of Russia Legion is (edit) back in Russia. Their Telegram channel is already showing them wrecking stuff in the Russian border stuff of Tetkino. For those who haven't kept up, they did some raids near Belgorod last year along with another, more controversial group (RDK). Both groups are composed of true Russian patriots who defected to Ukraine, although RDK is ran by the controversial nazi Denis White Rex, who was very active in the Russian MMA scene before the war. I like the Freedom of Russia Legion a lot more for obvious reasons, and their spokesperson, who goes by the call sign "Caesar" is a very smart man who is very dedicated to the cause of freeing Russia from Putin's regime. Here's some videos on the Legion that I found on YT in English; unfortunately the best videos are in Russian:

glad to see them back and hopefully can do some good sabotage jobs deep in Russia. They have a good chance of being legit as well because when Prog did his little stunt he was treated like a star when coming through the few cities that he did. The people are afraid to speak out for obvious reasons they just need someone to get behind.

The Biden administration announced on Tuesday that it was sending up to $300 million in weapons to Ukraine, the first new aid package for the country since funding ran out in late December.

The package, pulled together from money that Army accountants cobbled from savings from contracts that came in under bid, includes air defense interceptors, artillery rounds and armor systems, senior defense officials said. A U.S. official said the package also includes an older version of the Army’s longer-range missile systems known as ATACMS, which can travel 100 miles.

It is a stopgap measure at best, the officials said, but Ukraine is in dire need of air defense systems in particular, as Russia has continued its bombardment of towns particularly in the east.

The makeshift solution would keep advancing Russian troops at bay for only a few weeks, one official said."

At least it's something, question is , anyway around Moscow Mike?

If there won't be any significant protests organised on election day then sorry but nothing will happen to Putin for the foreseeable. Everything will carry on as normal.

Well a person's willingness to protest Putin is directly correlated to their willingness to spend the rest of their miserable life in a Russian prison, so I give em a bit of leeway

I dunno, those poll numbers might say one thing , but reality of things might be different. Those being polled might be afraid of saying anything near the truth. I realize many are totally brainwashed against the West but at the same point the amount of woman knowing they lost their men is growing.

Ofc ppl when asked will fear to tell what they think. It is Russia and ppl does knows centuries in row ....don't want get into trouble, then tell stuff according to official guidelines.
Pooling agencies btw too fears from government....so there also ...

While Putin for obivious reasons does have more success to hire ....not in Moscow or St Pete, where unemplyoment % is low and salaries highest in russia.....
Hiring is more successful in remote areas....
Therefore dissppointment level in Moscow or St Pete is low .......

Also if they really are hiring foreigners this too is hug factor.

How serious/real is this talk of Ukrainian-based Russian paramilitaries entering Russia?

Some bad news.
Clown admitted that he doesn't have ammunition....therefore mobilisation is delayed...while he wants to regain territories.....

North Korea is accumulating next big batch with naval commercial containers in port and Russia obiviously had seriously increased supplies to North Korea. What kind of supplies I don't know.

Zelensky popularity in Ukraine is dropping heavily cos idiotism with Krynky village.
And after this I even might excuse draft doggers and deserteurs......for a reason..sadly.

Krynky village area is near river and smaller rivers..
To install there simple mobiks is impossible. Only real pros ( valuable asset ) might had chance to reach area IF lucky.
And russia used damn a lot of different drones all day and night.....plus installed a lot of good thermals and also ground radars and so on....poor lads had to cross big river, then smaller rivers while russis had reach range for 120 mm mortars and arty & drones...

If ukraine was willing to sacrifice lucky guys, real pros for political reason it is awful shame......reality might be painful woke up.
